A couple of boys carry their gym bags on their shoulders across the empty parking lot. It's the end of the day, and they look like they want to crawl into bed and sleep for days.
"Well, practice was shit," one of them says, running a hand through his shaved head.
"It's not the same without Finn," the other boy admits, kicking the loose pebbles on the asphalt of the school's lot.
"You know what?" the shaved-headed boy goes, "I can almost guess the exact moment this whole thing started."
"When Levi joined the team?"
"Also, but no. Not really. Remember that first game away? When we left him at a gas station and Finn fucking lost it –"
"Everyone remembers that."
The other boy nods, opening the trunk of his car and throwing his bag inside, "Well, that was when Finn chose him over us. That was the beginning of everything."
