Based off of the live show on 8/17/17 and a Tumblr post

We've been together for eight years now. Although, none of our fans know that. Sure, we've hinted at it, left little clues. And there are loads of fan theories, speculations, arguments that phan is REAL, dammit. Dan and I chuckle at it all every time we see it in our tumblr dash, or in the comments on our videos. We've never confirmed it, leaving it to fan speculation is all part of the fun. But it's been eight years of fun, and I'm ready.

I poked my head Dan's room. "Dan, don't forget to grab the merch to show at the live stream. Also I need you to set up the computer and get everything ready, I have something I gotta do before we stream."

Dan didn't look up from his laptop. "Mhm, okay. Got it."

"Dan, really. Don't forget."

"I won't." He muttered, still concentrating on whatever he was doing.

I sighed and left, walking to my room. I was sure he was going to forget; he did that a lot.

I dug through the dresser in my room for a few minutes before finding what I was looking for: a small, black box. A ring box. I opened it and looked at the engagement ring in it again, running my finger over the shiny gold. I had bought it almost nine months ago, and throughout that time I had asked dan periodically to do a live show with me. I wanted to propose in front of the people Dan and I cared about the most other than our family and friends, which was our fans. Of course, I let our family and close friends know so that they could also witness the proposal live.

I paced around my room mentally preparing myself. I had been dreaming about this day since Dan and I got together. The day when he would go from being my boyfriend, to my fiancé, and eventually my husband. What would our last name be? Howell-Lester? Lester-Howell? Howlter? Lestell?

"Phil, everything's ready." Dan's words interrupted my anxious thoughts. "Are you okay, love?" He must have noticed my anxiety.

"Hm? Oh yeah, I'm find. I drank a pot of coffee a few hours ago, just some caffeine jitters." I responded with a smile. I walked over and kissed him on the cheek. "Ready?"

Dan smiled and nodded.

We sat down in the gaming room, making some last minute tweaks and posting on my social media about the stream.

We started the show, and almost immediately we were greeted by a couple thousand viewers, which quickly multiplied until it was a few hundred thousand.

I smiled and read off the names I could read in the fast moving chat, greeting them and welcoming everyone.

"We're finally doing a live show together! Sorry about the wait on that." I glanced at the chat and the usual mass of "IS PHAN REAL?????" questions in the chat. You're in for a surprise. I  thought.

We talked about the usual, movies and music and answered premium messages. Saying hello to messages that asked for us to hello. We were asked about the next videos and when they would be posted. "Dream Daddy on the gaming channel tomorrow." I promised.

"I'm working on a new video for my channel." Dan said, answering a question directed at him. "Shouldn't be too long for it to be up."

I had been thinking of a way to propose to Dan without it being too out of the blue, trying to find a way to get it to that kind of conversation. I couldn't think of a thing, until we started talking about my latest video.

"Phil was really brave to do the eBay box challenge. It was pretty stupid, though." Dan chuckled.

"It wasn't awful, and most of what I got was good, until the last box. That was horrifying... and sticky." I shuddered.

"Reminds me of those 'what am I putting in your mouth' or the 'what's in the box' videos people are doing now." Dan said.

I thought for a second, forming a plan in my mind. "Dan, we should do one of those challenges! Like a what's in the box challenge, but I get stuff and put it in your hand and you guess what it is."

I could tell Dan was hesitant at first, but he agreed.

"Alright, close your eyes. All the way closed, I know you can see if you're squinting." And I ran and grabbed a few things, before coming back.

"Please spare me." Dan muttered as I dropped the first item into his hands. He laughed a little. "It's an orange."

I grabbed the second item. "Okay, item two."

Dan looked confused and he turned it over in his hands. "What is this? What, uh..."

"Come on, Dan. You know this. You know this very well. You should know this better than your family."

Dan gave a laugh of pure shame. "It's microwave popcorn. I can't believe I knew what that felt like."

"Alright, close your eyes again." I grabbed our (non functional) dinosaur bottle opener, and Dan guessed correct again.

"I have one more. Ready?"

Dan nodded, and I looked at the camera, putting my finger to my lips as if I was shushing the camera. I quietly got down on one knee, pulling out the ring. I briefly saw the chat go crazy, spamming like I've never seen it.

Dan seemed confused. "Where is it?"

I took a deep breath. "Open your eyes."

Dan opened his eyes, and looked at me in complete shock. His eyes started tearing up.

"Daniel Howell." I began, more anxious than I've ever been. "You've been an enormous part of my life for eight years. You're my best friend, my boyfriend, my partner in our career and in life. I love you more than I could ever express, I love you more than anything or anyone in this world or beyond. I wanted to propose to you in front of the people you care about the most. Your family and our friends are watching, and so are our fans. Daniel James Howell, will you marry me?"

At this point Dan was full on sobbing. He nodded his head and choked out a, "Yes, of course."

I put the ring on his finger and pulled him into a hug. He held me tight, burying his head in my shoulder. "I love you so much. And I always will, I promise."

He pulled back and I immediately kissed him, every bit of my previous nervousness about the matter gone now. I'm gonna have my baby forever I thought happily.

We started looking at the chat, which was honestly a bunch of crying and heart emojis and profanity due to being in shock. We started answering some questions for the rest of our stream, or at least trying to. There were so many.

We finally ended it, and I wrapped my arms around Dan's waist.

"You sneaky little shit." He laughed. "I love you."

I pulled him closer, and kissed him. "I love you, too."
