Chapter 1

Maya's POV

As the bell rang signaling, the school day is now over, I started to pack all my stuff. I looked at all my classmates chatting happily with their friends while I left the classroom quietly. "Maya! Wait up!" I turned to see my friend Scarlet with her hair all over the place due to running. "Do you... want to go hang out this Friday?" She asked, panting, trying to catch her breath. I looked at her void of emotion as she looked at me, hopefully accepting her invitation. I gave her a sad smile, "Sorry... Scarlet. I have assignments to do." I said, clearly tired. "That's sad... I hope we could hang out like we used to!" she said while walking away. She went back to what she calls her 'friends' as I exited the school with no one to walk with.

Arriving at my doorstep, I saw a black kitten peacefully sleeping at the door of my house. As I tried to get a closer look, It woke up from its nap and stared at me with its golden eyes. It meowed and walked up to my crouched self and rubbed its head against my hand. I softly scratched the back of its ear while it tried to rub its head on my hand. "Where did you come from, little guy?" I said to myself. It meowed in response to my question. I saw, hanging around its small neck, a collar with a name tag having its name engraved on it and its address. The kitten lived a few houses from my home. "Let's take you home... Momo!" I said after reading its name on his collar.

I arrived at the doorstep of the supposed address of the owner of the black kitten. I knocked on the door using my other hand, the other carrying the kitten. I heard small footsteps approach the door. The door opened, revealing a blonde girl standing in front of me. "Hello there," I said with a small smile on my face. The girl's blue eyes sparkled with joy as she saw the kitten in my arms. "Momo! Momo!" she screamed in happiness, trying to grab the kitten from my arm. The kitten woke up from its nap; I gave the small feline back to the girl.

"I'm sow thankfuwl," The girl cried tears of joy. "Oh my... Someone found Momo..." I looked at the door to see an older woman, presumably the kid's mother standing behind her child. "Thank you for returning my child's cat." The woman said, bowing slightly. "No problem Miss. I hope it doesn't run away again," I said, sheepishly laughing. Before I was able to leave, the young girl held the ends of my skirt. "Wait! I'm gonna give you something!" the kid said. She ran inside her house, the kitten trailing behind her. She came back with a golden locket shaped in a heart. 

"Reward for bringing Momo home!" she said while handing me the locket. "A-ah no need-" I stuttered, clearly flustered. "Accept this gift, please? It's the least she can do." The mother said. "Alright... Thank you." I said to the kid. Both mother and daughter waved at me goodbye while I waved back. I looked at the locket and saw the words Love engraved on it. I put it in my pocket and headed back home.

I sat down on my chair inside my room and inspected the locket. It was a simple yet beautiful locket. I opened the locket; expected a picture inside. Instead, I was greeted by dust. I breathed some of the dust and sneezed. 'So much for being beautiful.' I thought. I started to feel drowsy after inhaling the dust. 'I should sleep. It was tiring today...' I thought. I lie down on my bed and let slumber take over me.

"WAKE UP MAYA! YOUR GOING TO BE LATE!" I woke up to the sound of my mom screaming. I jolted up from my bed and looked around panicky, trying to locate my uniform. I saw a grey uniform neatly hanging on the cabinet handle. 'W-wait, this ain't my uniform,' I thought. I inspected it further and to my shock. "This is the Kunugigaoka Junior High school uniform..." I muttered. "Ma! Where's my uniform?" I screamed back. 

"What are you, blind?! It's hanging on the closet!" she screamed. "Ma, this is not a joke. Where is my uniform ?! " I screamed. "I told you it's the one hanging on the closet!" She said, barging in my room with an apron on. "This ain't my uniform? Ain't mine the sailor uniform? " I asked. "Is sleeping early causing amnesia these days?! Didn't I enroll you in Kunugigaoka?!" she screamed. 

"What?" I said in surprise. "You've got no time! Dress up and leave!" She said, basically dressing me up in a matter of seconds. "They put you in Class 3-E. I know it's the lowest class, but I won't get mad," She said and pushed me out the door of our house. "Where am I supposed to go?" I opened my phone and saw it reset. I checked the location of the school and found out it was 15 minutes away by foot. 'All of my anime photos are gone.' I thought sadly.

I stood in front of the Kunugigaoka building and looked at it with sparkles in my eyes. I never knew I would be standing right in front of a place only my dreams can reach. "Welp, time to find the E class' classroom," I said in an unenthusiastic way. I started to walk up the very steep mountain while I regret my life choices. I looked around the area and felt very nostalgic. I never expected to see the forest with my own two eyes seeing that Assassination Classroom is a show. Walking further up the mountain, I started to see some parts of the classroom. While walking, I accidentally slipped and fell headfirst. 'Nice way to start the morning.' I mentally ranted. "You aren't supposed to be here... unless you are the new student." said a familiar voice. The student offered its hand to me. I looked up to see non-other than the redhead demon himself."Shit."
