While I was washing the dishes after eating lunch, I heard my phone ring. I checked it out and got a text from Asano.

Maya, I'd like to request a meet up at the Café near the school
You:
Why?
Asano Gakushuu:
I want to discuss with you the details of the piano concert
You:
Why can't you just text me or send it to my email?
Asano Gakushuu:
It's preferable to have a face-to-face meeting. Meet you there @ 3:30 pm; don't be late
You:
Why 3 pm?
Asano Gakushuu:
Someone's asking too many questions
You:
Someone's got a stick up their ass
Asano Gakushuu:
Touché. I have a meeting with my father at @5pm; I'm just squeezing you into my schedule
You:
Who has meetings with their fathers at the weekend? Don't you live together?
Asano Gakushuu:
It's a sense of formality. Just be there
You:
Alright, I'll try

I sighed as I typed in my last message to Asano. "Maya! Wash the dishes! Why are you always on your phone?! Can't you do the dishes first before texting?!" My Mom yelled from the living room. "Can I go outside? I have to meet up with someone later." I asked my Mom. "You're asking me for permission? I literally can't leave you alone when it comes to washing the dishes; what more when going outside? Sino kasama mo (Who will you be with)? Bat ngayon lang mag aayang lumabas (Why is it only now that they ask you to hang out)? If you want to go out, tell me in advance!" Mom screamed from the living room, glancing at me from time to time during her small lecture.
"Asano invited me to meet up at a cafe near the school. He wants to discuss the piano concert." I said as respectful as possible. I was quite close to screaming back as I dried up the dishes. "Oh! Its Asano? Of course, bring him the Biko I just made recently. Don't you dare be rude, or else I'm taking that phone away," She warned me. ' I can't believe she's like this, only agreeing if it benefits us in a way,' I thought. I went upstairs and prepared for the meet-up. I looked at my schedule to see I barely have any free time for myself. 'I guess this can be a reward,' I thought.
