Chapter 5

Maya's POV

I woke up from my nap and saw Karma carrying me in his arms. He was too distracted, looking ahead, that he didn't notice I was awake. I closed my eyes again and listened to what they were talking about. It seems like they were on their way back to treat my injuries. "You know my wounds would be infected by the time we arrive back at the inn, right?" I said out loud. Everyone looked at me in surprise. 

"Okuda, could you be a dear and look through the plastic bag I gave you a while ago?" I said kindly. She rummaged through the plastic bag. "Disinfectant alcohol, cotton buds, and bandages.." she said, looking surprised. "You had these, and u didn't tell us?!" Sugino screamed. "I slept," I said, giving them a wink. "I'm really sorry Maya, I recognized one of the guys, I know they were looking for me, but you ended up protecting me instead... I was supposed to be the one taken..." Kanzaki said in tears. "Hey, I don't know what's happened before to get us into this situation, but never blame yourself for it. They shouldn't even have thought about kidnapping," I told her. "Maya's right. Whether a fish lives in a clear stream or a water ditch, so long as it continues swimming forward, it will grow up beautifully. Don't let your past bother you, Kanzaki," Koro-Sensei said. Kanzaki let out a smile and wiped her tears away.

Karma put me down gently on a bench, and Koro-Sensei quickly patched up my wounds. "I feel much better now, so you guys don't need to carry me!" I said, standing up. "Thankfully, all your wounds are very light, almost like scratches. The blood we must have seen was from the guys Maya smacked." Koro-Sensei said. We all started going back to the inn, talking to everyone and laughing on our way back.

I went to the bathroom and cleaned up my wounds and face and proceeded to the sleeping room, and unpacked some of my stuff. The other girls started to go in and talk about the boys in the class. "Maya, who do you like?" Yada asked. "Hmmm... Asano Gakushu..." I said. "Huh?! Him?! But he's an A-Class jerk! How do you even know him?!" Nakamura reacted. "I just know him, and besides, he's the son of the principal, who wouldn't know him?" I said. "What do you like about him then?" Fuwa asked. "I heard that he's nice, and he looks good from the campus students!" I said, smiling, not saying that ever since his debut in the anime, he was my favorite. "You know, he's only nice to campus students and not us, right?" Nakamura said, putting her hands on her hips. 

"Maya, you play the guitar?" Kanzaki asked, pointing at my guitar. "Yea, I was planning to record the cover I was working on with Akashi. He helped me with the harmonization and other instruments a few days ago." I said. "Could we hear it?" Kurahashi asked. "Sure, gather around. Let me just play along with what Akashi and I recorded a few days ago."

Every girl looked at Maya with sparkles in their eyes. Not only did she look good, but she was also a good singer. Maya plucked each string with confidence and a smile like she was in her little world, enjoying what she's doing to the fullest. All the girls' eyes were on Maya. She looked so happy singing, even after being assaulted. They never knew a simple song could lift not only her mood but everyone's mood.

Somewhere in the inn, Karma buys a drink on the vending machine. He drank the juice alone in the empty corridors of the inn and thought about what happened back at the abandoned building.
