The murky smell of the library violated Keith's nose. As much as the boy loved this place, the scent is enough to make him start running for the hills. Books are the only reason he sticks around in this place. Today he had not came on his own instinct. No, Pidge and Hunk invited him during class. Keith just had to accept because he knew it would be best for him- and also because Shiro was giving him the death glare.
It would be fine. Keith could sit there and just geek out with the two. They seemed to be into the same crap as he was. The both of their banter was also quite amusing. Yet, that all just had to be tainted by one person. Lance. That boy's flat ass was placed upon the table they sat at. He laughed along with them as if he was actually there. He smiled at the smallest of things. One thing was still indisputable, Lance was only there for Keith.
Lance's expressions became more animated and his body was more alive, whenever Keith piped up. He said absolutely nothing. This, for some unknown reason, annoyed Keith deeply. Usually Keith would have enjoyed Lance's silence. Anyone that could hear the tanned boy would enjoy that. Still it felt wrong. It made Keith feel cold and on edge.
Keith tried so hard to ignore this. To push this away as he talked to Pidge and Hunk. He could be making some possible friends here. Friends that can actually be seen and will not annoy the living hell out of Keith. Lance was ruining all of this. Keith felt- no- knew that Lance really did not like this. It was quite obvious that Lance was very clingy towards Keith. Seeing Keith bond with the other must break his fragile ego.
After a small while, it seemed that lance had finished playing his game and had moved to a new one. He picked up one of the pencils on the table and fiddled around with it. Keith saw this from the corner of his eye and thought it was nothing. The only risk was that Hunk and Pidge would see a flying pencil and freak the hell out. Luckily, the both of them seemed too into their conversation to pay any notice. It was fine until Lance took aim. He flung the pencil at Hunk's face.
Hunk yelped in surprise, "Ouch!"
The both of them turned to face Keith. The black haired boy quickly turned over to flash an irritated look at Lance. The other boy just smirked right back. Keith looked back to the other two. Hunk had a hurt look on his face.
"Keith," Hunk moaned, "What was that for?"
Keith hastily replied, "I swear it was not me!"
"Yeah," Pidge scoffed, "Well then who was it? The goddamn Muffin Man?"
Keith's ears were also filled with another noise- laughter. Keith stole another glance at Lance to see the boy positively wetting himself. This must be quite amusing. So amusing that he picked up another pencil. He aimed the sharp weapon again, but this time at pidge. He paused to give a wholehearted smile at Keith, before launching the pencil out of his grasp.
Pidge dogged the pencil, "What the FUCK Keith?!"
"I'm telling the truth," Keith snapped back, "I was not me who threw that pencil!"
"Well it obviously was," Hunk piped in, "We just witnessed you pick up and throw that pencil. Do you take me as an idiot? Oh I hope not. Don't hate me. I will try harder to be a better-"
Keith quickly interrupted the boy, "It's not you, don't worry. Can I just have a moment please?"
Pidge nodded, "To sort your damn attitude out? Yeah of course. You can come back when you stop wanting to throw pencils at was."
Keith stood up from his chair. The boy had begun to walk away from the table. He took a breath, before looking over to Lance. The boy was quite amused by this ordeal. Lance still managed to comprehend the fact Keith wanted him to follow him. The boy positively hopped off the table and sauntered behind Keith. The spring in his step, as he walked, annoyed Keith the most. The black haired boy guided the other behind a couple of shelves. No one was sure to hear the outburst Keith was about to have, from over here.
