Jonah Marais
➵Jonah fell in love with everything about her.
He fell in love with how she gets up at the crack of dawn just to see the sunrise. He fell in love with how her soft steps pad down the cold tile in the hallway to get to the front porch where the crickets chirp and the air is cool. He fell in love with the small smile that rests on her face for the entirety of those calm mornings.
He fell in love with how she cooks breakfast in the kitchen. He fell in love with how her hands wrap around a steaming cup of coffee, content with the warmth it brings to her body. He fell in love with the hilarious squeals that escape her mouth when food is burning on the stove.
He loves how she dances around in the bathroom while brushing her teeth to a silent tune in her head. He loves how she sings off-key on purpose in the shower and how she makes faces at herself in the mirror when she's straightening her hair.
He loves how she shifts from one foot to the other when she's nervous and how she doesn't talk much when she's tired. He loves how she blushes when she catches him staring.
He adores how concentrated she gets while doing her college work. He adores the face she makes when she's bent over her own figure, finger guiding her eyes along the lines of the textbook on her lap. He adores how playfully angry she gets when he tries to talk to her on purpose when she's writing a paper.
He fell in love with the way her eyes light up when she looks at the sky and how simple minded she is and how she wants nothing more than to help others. Always.
He loves that when he's frustrated, she is patient and kind and caring. He loves her gentle heart. Even if the opportunity to fight is there, she never takes it.
He watches her and can't help but smile. It's inevitable, undeniable, unstoppable. Everything about her is perfect in it's own way to him. Everything.
He fell in love with everything about her.
So, after the years of dating that seemed like a short lifetime in itself, he asked her to marry him.
And that's where they are now.
(y/n) stands with her arms crossed over her chest, staring out the front window to the beautiful dewy morning outside.
Jonah does his best to be silent as he approaches her and succeeds; his wife doesn't recognize his presence until he's behind her. He wraps his arms around her hips slowly and nuzzles his face in the back of her neck, which makes her let out a light laugh at his adorable affection.
"You're too sweet," she whispers, "you know that, right?"
Jonah grins into her shoulder.
"I love you," he mumbles.
"I love you more," she says back.
