I'm annoyed.

Annoyed at my mother for telling me that I'm not trying hard enough at school when I'm actually working my butt off constantly, annoyed with myself for being involved in too many extra curricular activities, which resulted in my history essay being late, and annoyed with the world in general for being what I would call a big bowl of crap.

I'm annoyed, and I need a reliever.

Parking the car and walking into Target seems to be the answer to that desire.

When I drove away from my house an hour ago, my only intentions of leaving were to get away from my family for a short amount of time, but now, purchasing some Oreos sounds like a great idea.

I walk into the cold building and head straight to the back corner of the store where I know from past trips the candy and junk food section is.

I walk around, searching for a package of blue, and finally spot the corner of one of the boxes hanging off of one of the shelves at the end of the aisle. I walk down and don't bother to turn the corner just to grab it. I pick up the side of the package and move to turn around, but am surprised that it doesn't give way and come with me.

With my eyebrows furrowing in confusion, I turn back to the shelf and round the corner, just to almost run into someone. I gasp in surprise and jump back slightly.

"I am so sorry," the boy in front of me laughs.

I look up at him and I swear, I almost fall over.

Brown hair, brown eyes, and just an overall adorable persona.

"Oh no," I stutter, shaking my head nervously, "I -uh - I'm sorry."

"Don't worry about it. Guess we both love Oreos, huh?" he says with a grin, looking down at the package that I now realize we're both holding.

I let go of it in an instant as a small smile tugs at my lips.

"I guess so," I say.

I never thought the moment when a stranger stares at me with a smile on their face would come, but it's arrived.

Two figures suddenly appear from the aisle behind the boy in front of me.

The boy with extremely curly hair begins to speak.

"Zach, did you get the-"

He immediately stops when he sees us standing across from each other. A smirk takes over his features as he glances between us and elbows the lanky boy with brown hair and blue eyes next to him in the arm.

The boy who's name is apparently Zach turns to look over his shoulder.

"Hey," he says to his friends.

The blue-eyed boy raises his eyebrows at him with a sweet smile while the curly-haired one just shoots him a very suggestive look.

"Hey," he repeats, the desire to laugh very evident in his voice. "Who's this?"

Zach turns back to me with kind eyes that I can tell are asking for my name.

"(y/n)," I say simply.

The tall boy in the back reaches forward, arm outstretched.

"It's nice to meet you, (y/n). My name's Daniel."

I nod as I shake his hand.

"I'm Jack," the other says, still making his gaze between Zach and I quite obvious.

"It's nice to meet you guys," I say, feeling shy for some reason.

After a moment of silence, Jack takes a step back, pulling Daniel along with him.

"Well, we'll leave you two alone," he says quickly.

With a very unsubtle wink at Zach, he and Daniel disappear.

"Sorry about them," Zach says with a small chuckle as he turns back to me. "Well, sorry about Jack."

I let out a light laugh, conveying that I didn't mind at all.

About twenty minutes later, I get in my car with flushed cheeks and a beaming heart.

That's when I realize that I walked out of Target with Zach's number, but without Oreos.

"Hi, weirdo," Zach says through the phone.

I smile even though he can't see me. I never would've thought that we would become great friends - even though my love for him grows everyday - but here we are, four months later.

"Hey," I reply.

"Are you coming over soon?"

"Yep," I say, getting into my car as we speak.

"Good. Hurry please; I can't wait to see you."

And then, he hangs up.

Jack pulls the front door of the Why Don't We house open and smiles when he sees me standing outside.

"Hey, (y/n)," he says, giving me a quick hug.

"Zach!" he yells in an excessively loud voice as I follow him into the house. "The love of your life is here!"

I scoff and swat at his upper arm, trying to ignore the blush that's rising on my cheeks.

"Jack!" Zach shouts back from the kitchen. "Do you have to embarrass me in every single situation you can?"

Jack laughs and pushes me towards to kitchen just as Zach exits that very room.

His eyes light up when he spots me and he does a stomp-run towards me just to hug me. I let out a laugh as he pulls away and smiles.

He heads into the kitchen to sit down next to Daniel and I follow him, immediately walking over to the package of Oreos sitting on the counter.

I open them, but instead of seeing cookies, I see a piece of paper.

We met because of Oreos. They were the beginning of our friendship. Can they be the beginning of our relationship too? I love you, (y/n).

I look up at Zach with a smile on my face that can't be held back.

I didn't notice him standing up, but he is by now. He walks over to me and grabs both of my hands gently in his own.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"
