After we ate, Ashton told the Chief about everything that happened, starting from this morning and ending at how we ended up in the tunnel under the station. She was not happy that David managed to get by the officer that was patrolling around my house. To say she was mad would be an understatement. She called in every favor and had them search the whole city to find him.
"I want all units to patrol the city. You are to call your families and tell them you will be home late tonight and then begin. Don't go near the warehouse district. The CIA will be investigating that and I don't want anyone in their way. If you find something, you are to report to me immediately. Embry, you will stay here and make sure nothing happens to the. I want a report from you every hour on the dot. I want this bastard behind bars and I will not rest until he is. Dismissed." She ordered.
"Madam, their mother is here. She was worried that the kids had come up missing." Deputy Mason said as he led mom into the room.
"Mom." We yelled as we ran into her arms.
"My babies. I was so worried. I came home and noticed that you were gone. The neighbors said that you didn't leave the house. What happened?" She asked.
"David and his gang broke into the house. I heard them while I was in the kitchen and used the hidden passage that led into Ash's closet. We took the emergency tunnel and ended up here." I explained.
"He won't stop looking until he finds her. He'll do anything to get her back, that includes committing murder." Ashton growled .
"I-I s-scared." Alistair cried.
The three of us starred at him in shock.
"His first actual words." Mom whispered.
"Damn you David. My little brother's first words are 'I scared' and it's because of you." I mumbled under my breath.
"Don't worry sweetheart. The nice lady will make sure nothing happens to us okay?" Mom said to Al.
"I promise I will do my best to protect you from this....creature. You have my word." The Chief vowed.
"I know you will Chief. Just don't do anything stupid. That goes for all of you." My mother said sternly.
"Yes ma'am." They replied at once.
I turned and saw Embry leaning in the door way. I walked over and wrapped my arms around him.
"Embry please be careful and don't do anything stupid or reckless. I don't want you to get hurt, I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happened to you." I said softly.
"Don't worry. I won't. I value my life too much to do something stupid. I want to be able to take you out on a proper date when all of this mess is over." He said kissing my forehead.
"Embry you're in charge. I want you to gather a team of officers and try to catch these bastards. I want them locked up and behind bars before the end of the week. Dismissed." The Chief ordered.
"When all of this is over, I'm taking you on a date. I won't take 'no' for an answer." Embry said walking out the door.
"That boy is a keeper. Don't let him go." Mom whispered into my ear.
"Trust me, I won't." I said smiling.
"I'm going to let you guy stay here tonight. We have rooms with beds in them that you can sleep in. The cafe is downstairs and closes at eleven. I'll be back to check on you guys in about two hours." The Chief told us.
"Thank you." Mom said.
"Your welcome."
After all of the officers left, the Chief lead us to a private room that had two twin beds, a baby Steinway piano, and two dressers. I Sat on the bench at the piano and played with the keys.
"Hey sis. How about a song?" Ashton said.
I sat there for a minute thinking.
"I know." I said then began to play.
"Let It Go"
Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn my back and slam the door
The snow glows white on the mountain tonight,
Not a footprint to be seen.
A kingdom of isolation and it looks like I'm the queen.
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside.
Couldn't keep it in, Heaven knows I tried.
Don't let them in, don't let them see,
Be the good girl you always have to be.
Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know.
Well, now they know.
Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn my back and slam the door
And here I stand and here I'll stay
Let it go, let it go
The cold never bothered me anyway
It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all.
Up here in the cold thin air I finally can breathe.
I know I left a life behind but I'm too relieved to grieve.
Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn my back and slam the door
And here I stand, and here I'll stay
Let it go, let it go
The cold never bothered me anyway
Standing frozen
In the life I've chosen.
You won't find me.
The past is all behind me
Buried in the snow.
Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn my back and slam the door
And here I stand, and here I'll stay
Let it go, let it go
The cold never bothered me anyway, yeah, whoa
(Na na, na na, na na na na) [4x]
Let it go yeah
Na, na.
Here I stand.
Let it go, let it go, oh
Let it go.
"That was beautiful."
I turned and saw Officer Tomas and a few other officers standing in the doorway.
"Thank you." I said blushing.
"We came to tell you that your ex and his gang have been spotted outside the city. His gang has been captured and taken into custody." He said.
"What about David?" I asked nervously.
"He managed to escaped. We think he has a hideout somewhere outside the city. We have six teams outside the city, 12 in the city and other counties helping us look for him." He explained.
"Thank you. And thanks for keeping me updated." I said.
"No problem."
