To Love Another

Chapter 7

After I fixed Embry's plate, we headed to the living room and started talking again. I told him about the guy that was trying to hit on me yesturday and he flipped. When I told him the Chief took care of them he calmed down a bit.

"You're brother was right. You are a danger magnet." He said teasingly.

Just as I was about to respond the front door opened. We turned around and saw Ashton and Alistair walking through the door.

"Did you have fun Al?" I heard Ashton ask Alistair.

"Fun." Alistair giggled.

"Hey guys." I said making Ashton jump.

"Sheesh Anorey. You nearly gave me a heart attack." He said holding his chest.

"Sorry." I giggled.

"Emry." Alistair cooed.

"Hey little guy. How's it going?" Embry said walking over to him.

He shook Ashton's hand and ruffled Alistairs hair.

"Goo." Alistair said causing us to chuckle.

"So, What are you doing back? Is everything back in order on base?" Ashton said as he brought Al to me.

"I got transferred, and my boss made me take a vacation. He said I was working to hard and needed a break." Embry explained rubbing the back of his neck.

"Where are you being transferred to?" Ashton asked.

"Just outside the city. I'm going to be trainining new cadets." Embry chuckled.

"I wish them the best of luck then." Ashton joked.

Just then Embry's phone beeped. He pulled it out and sighed.

"So much for a vacation. I'm needed at the Police station. I'll talk to you guys later." He said shaking Ashton's hand.

He patted Alistairs head and grabbed my hands and kissed them.

"I'll see you tomorrow. I want to take you somewhere special so dress nicely okay?" He said.

"Sure. See you then." I said blushing.

I watched as he got into his car and left. My heart was doing somersults. I knew I liked him, but I was scared that he would break my heart. I know he's different from David, but  that doesn't stop me from being scared.

"I think you should go for it." Ashton said.

"I want to Ash, but I'm scared." I said walking over to the couch.

"I know you are, but give him a chance to prove himself. He wont hurt you like that bastard did. Besides I actually like him. He's honest, trustworthy, guarded, kind, gentle and so much more. Please. Don't let a guy like him walk away. He really seems  to care a great deal about you." Ashton said kissing my head.

MYSTERY POV

"She's being watched sir. We have to be careful or this plan of yours is going to go up in flames. There are at least 3 security cars watching the house. They have watch dogs-bloodhounds-that pick up the faintest scent. The Chief is solving Anorey's case personally."

"Don't worry. I have a plan to get rid of those pests. That girl is going pay for trying to get rid of me,even if I have to kill her little family as well." Said a dark voice.

EMBRY'S POV

As I was driving back to the station, I thought about  what Anorey said  to me.
