"What's going on? Are we being attacked?" Asks Hunk, entering the control room with you, Lance, Keith, Allura and Coran following behind.
"No, Pidge detected radio waves coming from that planet in front of us," explained Shiro, pointing out the window of the ship.
"None of them seem to be transmitted by Galran technology, though," adds Pidge.
"I think you should all investigate, there might be people in need of help," suggests Allura.
"Good idea, Allura. (Y/n), why don't you join them, Allura and I can manage the castle," offers Coran. "And plus, we'll keep on guard just in case you all need a quick escape."
You think for a moment. "Sure, I'll go. If that's okay with you, Shiro."
"Of course you can come. It's been a while since you've joined us on a mission anyway."
"Yes!" Lance cheers, giving you a fist bump.
"Okay, paladins, let's suit up."

The five lions and the Altean ship landed onto the planet.
Each of the paladins, plus you, had stepped out onto the surface.
It was a mostly barren planet, only having scarce sources of water and few greenery. Rubble and debris were almost everywhere. The sky had a purple-ish pink tint, and the stars were slightly visible. It smelled of dust and slight sewage.
"This looks like a post-apocalyptic version of earth," you observe, walking around with the others.
Pidge snorted at your remark. "Nice little analogy, (Y/n)."
You grin proudly, "Right back atcha, Green Bean."
Keith turned to you and smirked, "Hey that reminds me, we never got to discuss your nickname for me-"
"Are you sure you detected anything here, Pidge? It looks kinda deserted," interrupts Lance.
You frown at him, to which he replied with an oblivious, innocent expression.
Pidge opened her mouth to answer but was cut off by the shooting of a laser beam just barely missing her.
You swiveled around to see five masked figures holding up weapons, all aimed at the six of you.
"To your left!" Keith shouts, raising his bayard and charging at them, moving protectively in front of you.
"Wait, Libers, hold your fire," orders the middle masked figure, who appeared to be their leader. The four behind him lowered their weapons.
"Keith! Stop!" Shouts Shiro, "They put their weapons down."
Keith hesitantly lowers his bayard as well.
"So the rumors are true," states the leader of the five, peering up at the lions behind you,"Voltron really has returned."
Shiro approaches him,"Yes, we have. Who are you? Are you the source of the radio wave signals we picked up?"
The leader removed his mask. He looked as if he was human, minus the small horns peaking out of his hair. He seemed to be around your age.
He has a scruffy look to him, much like the cute skater boys from back home on earth.
"The name's Alec. We're freedom fighters. It's an honor to meet you, paladins of Voltron. Thank you for all your service to the universe."
Shiro smiled politely and shook his hand. "No problem, thank you for fighting on our side."
Alec nodded, then glanced at the you and the others. "There are six of you? I thought there were only five lions?"
"There is," you piped up, "I'm (Y/n). A non-paladin. Nice to meet you." You offered your hand for shake.
He smiled and took your hand in his, raising it to his lips, kissing it. "A beautiful name. Pleasure to meet you, (Y/n)."
He moved his face closer to yours, "Has anyone ever told you that your eyes are filled with galaxies?" He stated in awe, peering into your eyes.
Lance's shoulders tensed, and Keith slowly raised his bayard once more. Pidge and Hunk snickered to themselves.
You blushed as he let go of your hand. "No, actually. Thank you."
Alec smiled at you then returned his attention the entire group. "Come, everyone, let us show you to our home base," he invites.
"Shiro," Keith intervened, "Are you sure we can trust this guy? He could be working with Zarkon."
Shiro pondered this. "How do we know this isn't a trap?" He asks Alec.
"Libers, please remove your masks."
The people behind him obey, revealing their faces.
They were all unique. You all recognize that they were of ethnicities from planets that Voltron had freed in the past.
The one on the far left was Balmeran. Beside him was a Diligite. Beside her was a Puigian. And the one on the very end was from Daibazaal.
"These are my friends. Rubeus, Connor, Travis, and Qwert. We were all taken from our homes by the Galra. We escaped, and made this our new home. Planet Liber," explained Alec. "Our people fight to help those who were stripped from their homes and loved ones. We sent radio waves because we thought you were a Galran prisoner ship. They pass by here often, so we tend to lure them here."
"So please," continued Alec, "We ask for your trust. The others of us would be delighted to meet you all. They are in desperate need of hope. Seeing Voltron would bring them that."
The five of you nodded to Shiro, signifying that you trusted them.
Shiro faced Alec once more. "Lead the way."
