Lance's mouth hung open, unable to emit any words.

"Do wanna know why I said no?" You ask, staring intently into his eyes.

"B-Because you changed your mind?" He stuttered, but he had a feeling that he knew the real answer.

"Because I fell for someone else."

He fidgeted with his hands and looked down to avoid your gaze. "May I ask who?"

"Oh, you know, Alec."

His head snapped up to look at you. "What?"

The corners of yours lips twitched upward. "I'm kidding, you barnacle!" You laughed, shoving him in the shoulder, "It's you I like."

He let out a breath in relief. "Wow, I actually believed you there."

You smiled, "Sooo..."

"Sooo?"

"Well? Do ya like me too? You're kinda leaving me hanging."

"Of course I like you! I've loved you ever since this plan started," he responded.

It was your turn for your mouth to hang open. "But-...then why did you...?"

"Dude, you were head over heels for him. I wanted you to embrace your feelings and have a chance with whoever you liked. Even if it was with him," he shrugged.

Your eyes softened. "You're so sweet," you gushed, "I love you, too, by the way." You gave him a short kiss.

He blushed, gently taking your hand in his. "This plan definitely got out of hand, didn't it?"

"Yeah, but I'm glad it did," you smiled happily, leaning your head onto his shoulder.

"Me too."

A couple moments of silence passed before you thought of something.

"Hey, you weren't gonna say yes to that alien girl, right?" You asked.

"I don't know," he replied without thinking.

You slowly detached yourself from him. "What do you mean?"

He awkwardly scratched the back of his neck. "I mean at that point I thought you still liked Keith so I probably might've said yes to her.

"Lance!"

"What? I didn't know you liked me back," he defended.

"So? I said no to Keith even though I didn't know if you liked me back," you replied, hurt.

He saw the sadness in your eyes and his face fell, "(Y/n), I-"

"No just save it. I'm going to get some food and go to bed," you mumbled, turning around to leave.

"Please, I'm sorry I wasn't thinking and-"

"I just realized there's no food 'cause Hunk didn't make dinner which just adds to the injustice that I have experienced tonight so please don't talk to me or else I might cry."

You finally exit the room, shoulders slumped and eyes downcast.

"I meant it, you know," he desperately called after you,"When I said I love you."

You stopped past the door.

"I meant it too."

And the doors slid shut behind you.
