Sometimes I look to the sky and I wonder as my mind floats away, What hides beyond the smile that lies on the faces of those who are broken, as they walk beside their companion, who are completely oblivious to their pain, yet continually asks curiously are you okay, after noticing the heavy weight that threatens the smile, their partner so desperately cling onto. Ignoring their own heartache to pick up the burden of their friends only to be shut out and alienated from their once nearest and dearest.
I wonder what lies within that locked box that each person carries within their soul, the secrets that they shove away along with the saltiest of tears that they cry in the cover of the darkened nights, the most irrational of fears and their inner demons that lay under their hearts bed that communicate and collaborate with the monsters in their head, scratching on the walls screaming to be let out never to be heard because they are locked away in a box labeled unreal, in a room unseen, behind a door labeled unknown, in a pit unheard of, in a place said to have not existed.
