(The Beginning of Junior Year)

The wind blew through the trees in the night, causing a soft breeze. Scott and Liam were walking through the trees following the scent off the wolf that walked onto the field. They came upon a sight that was grizzle. Several other wolves were lying on the ground with bugs coming out of their bodies. The two looked at each other. Then a smell drifted in through their nostrils. Liam looked around only to find nothing.

"Will you just come out and say what you have to say?" Liam asked knowing all well who it was. Scott and Liam looked up to see Jayde crouching on a tree branch with her shoeless feet clinging onto the branch. She looked at Liam and then Scott.

"You're back." Scott said with a half-smile.

"Got a town to protect." Jayde replied as she stayed in the tree. "I sensed a storm coming so I came back faster."

"You gonna come down?"

"Nope. Feel much better up here."

"I tried to apologize and talk to you." Liam chimed and put his hands out.

"I'm over it. I didn't come here to talk to you. I came here to figure out what the hell is going on. Besides, you should probably be more worried about Klaus after what happened." Jayde turned around and jumped into a different tree. Scott looked at Liam who looked back at him.

"What did you do?" Scott asked and Liam sighed.

"I kind of made out with Hayden during the full moon and it almost went too far. That's another reason why Hayden left. Jayde wanted to kill her but she let Hayden leave."

Liam and Scott were packing up Scott's clothes as he got everything ready to leave. Liam had so much on his mind right now that he was beginning to get a migraine.

"Why would you do something like that knowing her brother already hates you?" Scott asked after they got done talking about the wolves.

"I don't know, it just happened." Liam replied as he put his hands together. "She walked in and almost killed Hayden. She would've if I didn't stop her. I screwed up and I know that but she won't talk to me."

"For something like that, you have to give her time."

"All summer. She had all summer and she hasn't talked to me."

"After everything that happened when she came back, it was clearly there that she loved you. You made a mistake that we all know was because of the full moon. She'll understand that at some point." Liam shrugged his shoulders.

At school the next day, Liam walked in without Jayde at his side. He knew she was here because he could smell her everywhere. He walked to his locker and as he put stuff in it, he looked up to see Jayde talking with a girl named Rhynn who happened to be a werewolf who moved here with her family, all werewolves as well. Rhynn had joined the pack when she found out Jayde was an alpha. At this point, Liam felt like he wasn't part of the pack anymore. Jayde and Klaus never kicked him out but he shifted on the last full moon by himself. He could barely control himself right now and his anchor was Jayde.

Liam looked back at Jayde who was looking at him. Rhynn had walked off to class. Liam breathed deeply and then walked over to Jayde.

"What can I say or do for you to forgive me?" Liam asked. "I'm so sorry about it. I...I don't know what to say to you." Jayde let out a soft sigh.

"Come by my house later." Jayde replied and walked away.

--------------------------

Jayde waited for Liam. She almost gave up until she smelled his scent downstairs. A few minutes later, Liam walked into her room. Talon lifted his head and wagged his tail as Liam sat on the bed.
