It was a drizzly autumn evening in Ninjago and the ninja were restless. Kai threw his Wii remote to the floor and groaned. Lloyd frowned at him, placing his own remote on the coffee table and picking up Kai's one. "There is nothing to do," Kai moaned, dramatically throwing himself onto the couch. Lloyd tilted his eyes. "There is heaps to do, Kai," he said calmly, going over to the game cabinet and opening it up, "We've got all these games and movies..." Kai lifted his head, scowling at the blonde boy. "Games and movies are for boring teenagers," he said matter of factly, "I am a ninja. And ninjas fight!" Lloyd sighed and rolled his eyes again. "Then go fight," he said, pulling out Water Horse, "I'm going to watch this movie." He put it in the player and pressed play, flopping onto the couch. Kai grunted angrily, shoving off the couch and storming out the door. Lloyd was so laid back about everything now he was older and Kai hated it. Young Lloyd always wanted to fight. Kai sighed and decided to see if Cole wanted to train together. He was cool. Kai entered Cole's room and surprise lit up his face as he saw Zane and Cole siting cross legged on the floor, eyes closed and hands held out slightly with the thumb and middle.finger touching. Zane opened one eye and smiled softly. "Hello, brother Kai," he greeted, "Care to join Cole and I in our meditation?" Kai's look of confusion turned to one of disgust. "I'll pass," he muttered, turning and stalking away. Geez, and he thought Cole was cool. "Well, it looks like chatterbox will have to do," he sighed in annoyance. Jay, obviously, wasn't his favourite 'brother' to hang out with. He just didn't ever shut up and thinks he's sooo funny when he's just being annoying. But, Kai wanted to fight and there was no one else to fight with. As he was stalking down the hall to Jay's room, he heard a giggle and stopped. "It's so big," he heard a feminine voice gasp. He frowned, recognising his sister, Nya's voice. He wondered who she was talking to and what 'it' was. "You like it?" Kai gasped. He'd recognise that annoying voice anywhere! And now he had an idea of what 'it' was...and he didn't like it. "Can I...can I touch it?" Nya asked hesitantly. "Of course." There was a pause, before she giggled. "Wow," she murmured, "It even feels amazing." Kai couldn't bear it anymore and flung Nya's door open. There, on the bed, Jay and Nya sat, startled by Kai's entrance, a big doll house in between them and Barbies scattered across the floor. "Hey, Kai," Nya greeted, an eyebrow raised, "You need something?" Kai ran a hand through his spiky dark red brown hair, embarrassed. "Um, no..." he said nervously, "I was just...curious...about what you were talking about." Nya frowned. "Were you eavesdropping?" she asked suspiciously. Kai glared at her. "No, you two were just talking so loud, I couldn't not hear you," he huffed, crossing his arms. "You are such a pain, Kai," she sniffed, "Can you just go? We're kinda busy." Jay glanced between them, but didn't say anything in case he got hit. Kai huffed, "Whatever," and left the room, giving the door a good slam before going to his room. He sighed, sitting on his bed, frustrated, angry and disappointed. He had been looking forward to a fight. Suddenly, a loud alarm went off and red lights started flashing throughout the ship. Kai jumped up gleefully. "Looks like I'm gonna get a fight after all," he grinned, before sprinting out of his room.

A/N

Well, here it is. A new Ninjago fanfic, as promised. And look! It's about Kai! And Nya. This one is going to be less about romance and stuff like that and more about family and finding yourself. Oh, yeah, and I should mention, the ninja and Nya are younger in this book than in the others. In the others, the ninja are 20 and Nya is 18, in this one, the ninja are 18 and Nya is 17. And Kai is more arrogant than ever! Hope you guys like it!
