Ms. Harper exhaled a loud audible sigh as she froze in her chair, the shock still ridden in her system.
Frightened thoughts swarmed her mind on her drive home.
How could this happen? What was he thinking? What do I do?
She asked herself over and over, but the last question stuck out the most. She needed to talk to him to make herself clear. And so she decided to do exactly that, first thing tomorrow morning.
Ms. Harper had a free first period the next morning, thankfully. She pulled up Jay's schedule from the office and went to go fetch him from his first period Chemistry class.
His eyes lit up when he saw her. Even thought he knew why she was there, he followed her eagerly hoping for a turn of events. That moment when things wen this way and he got what he wanted: Ms. Harper. He rushed out the classroom door.
"What is it Ms. Harper?"
"Follow me, Jay."
His odd hope grew with every step he took as they reached her classroom. Could this be it?
They both sat down. She at her desk and Jay across from her. Just like their tutoring sessions.
"I wanted to talk to you about yesterday." She began sternly.
"Yeah?" he asked, reluctantly. He knew what was coming, but his eyes bright with hope.
"What we did..." she shook her mind of her thoughts. "What happened yesterday was wrong, Jay and it should never happen again."
"I-I'm sorry Ms. Harper. I don't know what I was thinking-"
"It was inappropriate."
"Okay...I'm sorry." He hung his head down in shame as he slid his foot against he ground, trying to distract himself.
"It's fine. How about we forget this ever happened and we move on? I'm still your teacher, you're still my student. Every one wins?"
Jay looked up at her as he crossed his arms failing to force a smile on his face. "Sure Ms. Harper. It never happened."

But everyone didn't win that day. Jay's crush for her grew more and after feeling his lips against hers, that's all he could ever think about. From then on, he tried his best not to make eye contact with her, or it only make his feelings swell. And she was right, she's his teacher and he's her student. It should stay that simple, but Jay felt something burrowing within him, and the more he denied his feelings, the more they consumed him.
