The following two days were awful for Jay. Not seeing Ms. Harper drove him mad. He still couldn't seem to put his finger on her sudden change of mind - no matter how many times he attempted to talk to her she would either ignore him or brush him off. He didn't believe and not even fathom that she simply came to her senses because if that were the case, why did she even waste her time with him? The more he thought about it, the more it made his head hurt and his heart heavy.
He trudged into the Computer Club after school, dreading to see Mr. Vega, who he was sure was the reason behind Ms. Harper's change of tune, but he wasn't there. There was an assignment written on the board, so Jay joined his classmates and dug into the work.
"Shoot, I forgot my laptop," he said aloud.
"Well just use Mr. Vega's computer and send the assignment to yourself." A guy said sitting at the desk next to him. His eyes still glued to his screen as he clicked away. "Plus, don't want to lose to Jerry again, do you?"
Jay loved a challenge and he wanted to beat Jerrywho had one almost every assignment, plus Mr Vega won't even know he was there. "Good thinking!"
He charged over to Mr. Vega's desk, nearly falling out of the chair in excitement. After gaining his balance, he started the assignment, which turned out to be a breeze. He opened his email, and searched the computer by his last name for his saved assignment, but another file came up, a second file. It was actually a folder labeled "Braden & Harper. He tilted his head in curiosity and exited out of the attachments folder.
He took a deep breath and opened the folder. Three files were there. An mp4, then two documents. He opened the video unsure of what he'd see, but once he opened it, he recognized it immediately. How'd he get that? Jay thought. And with his heart now racing, he immediately exited the video and went to the document. It was an email, threatening Ms. Harper. His heart sank into his stomach. Was this really happening in front of his eyes? He slowly put his cursor over the last document labeled "Studently Assembly Media Line up."
It was a powerpoint, and as Jay zoomed through the slides, there was the link to Jay and Ms. Harper's video, at the very end. Then he put it together, Mr. Vega is in charge of the media for every student assembly and everyone is there. Students, faculty, teachers and even parents come. But this couldn't get out. He was lying to Ms. Harper the whole time. He didn't care if she continued her relationship with him or not, Mr. Vega planned to release this anyway. And that meant that Jay couldn't have Ms. Harper - she would be gone for good.
He shut all the folders, overwhelmed, heated and nervous. He furiously searched through the files on the computers, trying to delete the video, but it wouldn't work, it was password blocked. Jay rubbed his now shaky hands through his hair in frustration.
