It has been 3 days. 3 days since I lost someone very important to me, and it was all my fault. Stacy isn't dead. But she is emotionally and psychologically scarred. I look at her when I can because I am bed ridden but she looks frightened. Scared of every shadow, scared of every person, scared of.....me. I couldn't protect her and she paid the price for it. The worst part is that I couldn't properly pay the person who did this to her. Who made her such a shell of a human being. She ran when he had the chance. Her consort however wasn't so lucky. Ethan was a puppet of Seline's. He got his due but Seline is still running around somewhere, but I have a feeling I won't be seeing her for a while.
I would tell you everything in this entry but I am so tired. It is difficult for me to be writing even this. So I will tell you everything I can before I pass out.
It started with the field. I arrived all alone, but Seline and Ethan weren't the only ones waiting for me. All across the football sized field, were bodies all lying down in their own blood. The smell alone could've made me faint. A significant amount of rotting corpses were present and at the head of it all was Ethan having the time of his pathetic miserable life.
"Like what we've done to the place? 682,545 people used to live in this damn city. Due to hard work and determination, me and my colleague here managed to lower the population to a nicer, smaller number of 682,242." I did the math quickly in my head. Forget a hundred, 303 people have lost their lives to this maniac.
Seline was in the middle of it all, and next to her, on her knees covered in blood from head to toe, shackles on her wrists and ankles, was Stacy. She looked lost, petrified, hopeless, until she saw me. When she looked at me, I didn't see gratitude, no faith, no hope, I saw nothing. There was literally no emotion in her face, the face of a tortured captive.
"So shall we do this? I don't have all day, your one true purpose here is to try to kill the both of us and IF you succeed then you will get you're beloved back. If you don't well obviously you'll be dead but I think I will keep little sugar plum here for a little while, her screams are magnificent when you touch all the right spots." I look up to the woman next to Stacy, and I swear that I have never felt the wolf inside of me so powerfully before. I start towards Seline with murder in my eyes, until I see out of my peripheral image, a body twitch.
"Oh, did I forget to warn you?" Ethan lowered his voice to the point where I could make out what he was saying but no other preternatural creature could. I looked at all the bodies now around me, dread filled me as I saw one kind of fidget. "You might want to keep it down a bit" How did I not see this before? These weren't corpses, at least not all of them. Some I could see were definitely dead but others? "Don't make any sudden movements" Judging on their conditions, I would say that these things were newly born. A blood lust the likes of which I have never seen is coming soon and I was standing in the middle of quite a few of them. "Wouldn't want them to oh I don't know, WAKE UP!!!" The last two words changed from a silent whisper to a thundering roar and I saw many of the corpses rise from the ground like something from a zombie movie. Their eyes were bloodshot to the point where the whites of their eyes and even the pupils were completely overshadowed by red. I saw some look towards Ethan and disregard him instantly knowing what he was and not wanting any part in him or even Seline and the person next to her.
I, however, seemed like the perfect first meal. And they lunged. I felt like a deer stuck in traffic lights and was only able to move when I felt a hand grab my ankle from one of the newborns that were near me but had not risen yet. I turned and with all my power, kicked it in the face. He crumpled to the ground and realized something. These things were nothing compared to Francis. He had control, he had strength that came from feeding. These newborns still didn't understand the concept of restraint, of feeding for strength, of even how to properly fight something beyond their skill or power level. I had a chance but I needed to spring my trap now.
I waited, and waited, and waited for ALL the newborns to notice me and to turn away from Seline and Ethan. Waited so that no matter how fast they were they couldn't get to either of them fast enough. And then I put in my ear plugs and blew the whistle. I had thought of this before but never really had a chance to test it out. Our hearing, including those of a vampire are much more advanced then that of any animal, human, or otherwise. Earlier on I had found a whistle that could only be heard by dogs and were sometimes pained by it depending on the frequency at which you blow it. With a little help from the twins, we were able to modify it so that the frequency would get higher with the harder of a blow you put into it. The nearby newborns fell to the ground with their ears covered and even Ethan and Seline had to kneel and cup their ears.
That is when the trap truly sprung. Adrian and Scott came from behind the two full fledged vampires, Adrian immediately grabbed Stacy and ran back to wherever he came from hopefully far away from the carnage about to ensue and hidden enough that Seline or Ethan wouldn't be able to find her. Scott on the other hand shifted into his wolf form. He attacked Seline but was backhanded at the last moment, sending him flying a few yards away from the woman.
It looks like the vampires will recover from the effects of the whistle a lot faster then the newborns seeing as how they were still trying to recover while Seline was able to defend herself and Ethan was now standing tall looking a bit annoyed.
This wasn't going to end sweetly. And I am truly sorry but I can no longer hold this pencil for any longer. The poison is slowly making its way through my system and I am so so tired so for now, Mason out.
