Chains tightened and clanked as the cage arose from the ground. Inside a boy unlike any other. Thomas jolted up like a spring and looks around his empty cell. The cage continued to rise higher until it reached the top, his screams echoing through the shaft.
"HELLO?! WHAT THE HELL" He screamed as he clasped the bars.
The cage arose to the top, stopping in the center of a large arena. The bars collapsed, setting him free. He looked around and noticed a crowd of green creatures cheering in rows around the arena.
"WHAT IS THIS?" he stood in place, shaking.
The ground beneath him began to rattle as the gate at the edge of the arena opened. He looked and all he saw just darkness.
"You have been chosen." A voice echoed through his mind. Thomas recognized it immediately.
"EDAN? WHATS GOING ON"
"Shut up you little coward."
Thomas' mind felt a little sting soon after, bringing slight pain. Thomas breathed hard and stared at the gate.
"W-what are you doing to me?"
"Just shut up!" the voice grew louder in his head.
From the darkness and slim figure walked out slowly, Thomas stared. The figure then began to shake faster and faster, becoming slightly transparent. Thomas crept back and soon recognized the figure.
"Z-zach?" Thomas' heart beat ramping up.
Zach looked up to thomas, his eyes a purple void. He then ran laps around the whole arena, seeming like he only a blur because of his tremendous speed. Thomas stared in fear and amazement.
"He shall be your executioner today." Edan stated.
"He's under my control and listens to my every command." Thomas stood in fear watching the blur. He then stood in a fighting stance and prepared for the worst. Zach then bolted towards Thomas, striking him in his waist. Thomas yelped and trembled slightly, giving zach time to jet off back to his laps.
"What the matter? Too quick for you?" Edan laughed at his subject.
"W-why Edan...why" Thomas coughed up some blood and went back into his stance, focusing on Zach's movements.
Zach came back at Thomas, this time landing multiple strike on his stomach. Each punch felt like a bullet shattering his chest. Zach quickly looked up into Thomas eyes as he punched, then back at his target. Thomas screamed in pain and threw his fist forward in a last resort. His fist slammed into Zach's shoulder, sending him soaring into the wall at the edge of the arena. The crowd cheered. Thomas breathed hard as he recollected himself, moving back into stance. He glared at his hands and smirked slightly.
"Huh..." Thomas shrugged, ignoring the distance he made between him and Zach.
Zach, caught off guard stayed helpless at the wall. His eyes turned back to the natural shade of green. He coughed and turned to look at his fractured shoulder dug into the wall. He screamed and his eyes widen in pain.
Edan grunted and his voice faded.
"Your a...lucky..shot" His voice disappeared and Thomas ran to Zach's aid.
Thomas knelt beside Zach and pull him out of the wall, his left arm being lifeless. Thomas panicked and lifted Zach like he was a feather.
"S-shit...we'll find you something to fix this up Zach.."
Zach's breath came low as he fainted in Thomas' arms. Thomas looked around and ran out from the gate in which Zach entered from. He exited the Arena, running off into a set direction. Thomas', scared of what's happening carried Zach until his legs couldn't handle the distance. Thomas came to a stop an old abandoned home. He punched the door wide open without hesitation and ran inside. He found a bed and set Zach down on it, elevating his shoulder with the pillow.
"I...i'll be right back alright?"
Zach's voice began to crack
"O...okay"
Thomas exited the room and searched the home for any supplies. Luckily, he discovered a medic bag in the corner of the kitchen. He snatched it and ran back to the room where Zach laid, opening the bag instantly and emptying it's contents. The only thing that fell was a syringe filled with a fluid that sparked like lightning. Zach turned his head slightly and noticed it.
"T-that....inject that.." Zach said with little breath.
"Why?" Thomas asked.
"P-Please.." Zach begged.
Thomas grabbed the syringe and slide it through Zach's shoulder, emptying it into him. Zach gasped as lighting surged through his body. He sat up, static emitting from his shoulder before fading off. He moved his arm around and smiled, looking back at Thomas.
"It's a serum that contains electric energy within it. I'm not entirely sure what happened to me...but this stuff feels real damn good."
Thomas nodded and stood up from where he knelt.
"What happened to Edan?"
"I'm not sure...all i remember is waking up in a cylinder before i saw him. He told me i could be of use to him before everything went black. I then woke up and found my damn arm shattered."
Zach rolled his arm in a circle and rested it back down, feeling the blanket on the bed.
"I heard him speak to me in my head...and your eyes. They were purple and looked like space." Thomas stated.
"I'm not sure what's happened to him but he certainly isn't himself."
Thomas nodded and put his fist on the wall.
"What happened with you?" Zach questioned.
"I just woke up in a cage and put in some stupid arena. You were being...controlled by him and kept attacking me."
Zach froze a bit and nodded, looking down at his feet.
"Well sorry" he laughed
Thomas looked at his hand and lifting it, punching straight through the wall without any sense of regret. He felt nothing as his fist shattered the wall. Zach's eyes widened at the sight.
"God damn...chill"
Thomas pulled his hand out slowly and nodded.
"We should probably leave this stupid house"
"Agreed" Zach responded hoping to his feet. Lightning surged down to his legs, causing static to zap out. Thomas looked at them and smirked.
"Doesn't that hurt?"
"Nahhh. Like i said that electric stuff feels good."
Thomas nodded and the two headed out of the home. Zach grabbed thomas from under his arms and the two bolted off in a flash.
A tall figure stalked them from the window of the home, watching as they ran off.
"Interesting" it muttered in a demonic tone. It snickered and bursted into a cloud of black smoke.
