Runaway Love

Chapter 4

My mom, sister, and I got to the airport on time to pick up my dad. It's a big airport with many many many people and lots of traffic. When I saw my dad, I ran to him and gave him the biggest hug ever.

"Hey, Lily! How are you?", he asked. The question stumped me. How was I? I didn't know he answer to that question so I just said "okay, I guess".

"I heard about the accident, honey. I'm sorry.", he said.

"oh. It's okay." Then, my mom and sister came up behind me and gave Dad a hug. We all carried his suitcases to the car. Dad drove back and I sat next to Hailey in the back.

Before we started driving, I saw a girl staring at me. She looked around my age. She's a brunette with blue eyes and she was pretty. That's all I know about her because my dad drove off.

We went out to eat and went home quickly. I picked up the mail and saw an envelope that said in the front:

Lily Summerville

Someone must've come by the house and put it in the mailbox. I walked straight to my room with the letter and shut the door. I sat at my desk and looked at the envelope.

What could this be?, I thought.

I finally stopped procrastinating and opened the envelope. It read:

Dear Lily Summerville,

You are invited to the very sad funeral of Collin Jacobs. I also heard you are the girl with him in the crash and I hope you are okay to help us put Collin to rest in peace. The date of the funeral is March 21st.

Day of the Funeral

I put on my black dress with my tights. I wore black high heels and took my purse with me. I drove to the Funeral Home by myself. It took me about 10 minutes to get there. I parked up my car and walked towards the door.

I walked inside quickly and found the room where they will have a prayer service for him. I was greeted by Mrs. Jacobs.

"Hi, Lily. How are you?"

"I'm fine. How about you?"

"I'm okay."

Then, the girl I saw at the airport walked into the room and she was walking towards me.

"Hi. I'm Rebecca."

"Hello. I'm Lily."

"I know. He talked about you all the time. I was his girlfriend by the way." WAIT WHAG DID SHE JUST SAY?

"Uh. No. I think you have it incorrect. I was his girlfriend."

Then, Mrs. Jacobs was walking towards us.

"What's happening over here?", she asked.

"I think Collin was a cheater. He was dating both of us at the same time.", Rebecca said. I didn't say anything. I just went quietly to pray over Collin's body and look at hi. And I left without saying goodbye.

I drove too quickly home. I started crying. All of a sudden there was traffic I front of me and my car slammed into a wall. I fell unconscious after that.
