Runaway Love

Chapter 9

After the funeral, everyone went to my house to grieve over my mom. Caleb was there also. I didn't say anything to him because I wanted to grieve for my mom.

When everyone left my house, I started to clean up. But then I realized that I was the only one home, with Caleb. I started cleaning up quickly and Caleb even helped, too. He took off his jacket and rolled up his shirt's sleeves. On his arms were tattoos that had to have had some meaning to it. He also had muscles.

When we were finished, I went up stairs to change into my orange high-waisted shorts and a crop top that said "Love". I was also wearing a beanie, even though I was inside the house.

I walked down the steps, to see Caleb sitting there smirking at me.

"What are you looking at?", I asked.

"You.", he replied.

"Why?"

"Cause you're beautiful."

"You're just saying that."

"No I'm not. Come here." I walked towards him on the couch and sat next to him. I put my head on his chest.

"You've gone a long way today, Lilly."

"Yeah. I know."

I looked up into his blue eyes and kissed him, passionately. He kissed back and put a little tongue.

Soon enough, he was on top of me and we were kissing and not letting go of each other, until we heard my dad pull into the driveway.

I fixed the pillows on the couch and put on the TV as fast as I can. I sat on the couch with Caleb when my dad came in.

"Hi, Lilly. Uh. Who's this?", dad asked, referring to Caleb.

"I invited him to the funeral. Um. Uh. This is Caleb, my new boyfriend. Yeah. So uh...", I said.

"Hey! You can call me Dad, okay? Nice to meet ya! Lilly, honey. Can you leave the room for a minute?", Dad asked.

"Okay.", I did so. I went to a room and left the door wide open. So I could hear them.

*CALEB'S POV*

No. Lilly don't leave the room, I'm scared. I don't want her to leave the room because I'm really scared of her Father.

"Well, how are you?", he asked.

"I'm good, Sir! How are you?", I replied.

"I'm fine. What do you think of my daughter?", he asked.

"Well, Lilly is amazing. She's smart and really cool. She's beautiful also. I would never hurt her. I love her to death, even though I've only known her for 2 days.", I replied.

"That's all I need to know. I give you both my blessings. LILLY COME BACK IN HERE!", he said.

*Lilly's POV*

Dad called me back into the room. I rushed to Caleb's side. What he said about me was so beautiful.

"Now, to see if you really get my blessings, Lilly, what do you think of Caleb?", he asked.

"Well, Dad. I love Caleb to death. He's funny and cool and intelligent. I wouldn't trade him for any other boy, even though I've known him for 2 days. I think I love him as much as I loved Collin.", I said.

"You officially get my blessings. Both of you. Caleb, will you stay for dinner?"

"Sure. I'll text my mom."

Dad started walking towards the kitchen. I left Caleb to call his mom and I walked towards Dad.

"Dad?", I asked.

"Yes, Lilly?", he replied.

"Thank you, for giving us your blessings. I love you so much.", I said giving him a hug.

*Dad's POV*

I had to give her my blessings. Now that her mom is gone, I'm all that she has with her grandmother and her sister. I also like the guy too. He seems like he will protect my Lilly from any harm.

"You're welcome, sweetie. I love you too.", I said. She walked away with a smile towards Caleb. I've never seen her this happy in a while.
