I look at my reflection in the mirror. I see a long silouhette with a cocktail dress and white flats. I cannot believe I look so nervous. He probably won't even notice me there since there will be a lot of people. As I am putting on some dark  black mascara, I hear a knock on the door. "I am almost done dad," I say as I go to open the door. I open the door but the my surprise, the person is not dad, it is Justin.

"You look...," Justin hesitates as he looks at me, "beautiful."

My heart beats hard, I do not want him to notice my nervousness. A smile draws on my lips. I try to keep my cool so I say. "Thanks, you look good yourself."

"Seriously, Heather, you might me one of the most beautiful girls in school," surprises me Justin.

A quick laugh escapes from me and I try to avoid his gaze. "Thanks." I say shyly.

"By the way, just in case someone asks, we are going to the party together."

What? Me, Heather, on a date with Justin White?! Is this one of my frequent dreams? This cannot be real. This night is what I've been always dreaming of.

"Works for me. You'd better be a good dancer though. I do not want to be embarrassed," I reply and try to look and sound as relaxed as possible.

"Oh please! People tell me that I am the best dancer they know! You would better not embarrass me," Justin says with a joke.

One thing I absolutely know, Justin is an excellent dancer. I have studied him at every school dance since the seventh grade and I saw his smooth moves as he was dancing with the popular girls at school.

"Shall we go then," Justin asks as he offers me his arm.

"Let's go have fun," I say giving him my arm.

This night could be my dream coming true or a nightmare that will ruin my chance with Justin forever. I cannot embarrass myself. I need to be at my best and enjoy myself tonight. This chance might not come around again.
