Opening up my Instagram I noticed the red dot up in the top corner, tapping it I smiled because I was almost positive of who it was.

"Hey, you up?" he sent.

I looked down at the words and my face fell a little. That one little question meant usually one thing at this time of night.

I shook my head and adjusted my body on my bed better to reply.

Quickly I checked the time and saw he sent it over twenty minutes ago. I replied saying I was up but didn't think he would see it anytime soon, my opportunity was probably gone.

I was scrolling through my feed still going over those three words when I saw the red dot again.

"What's your number?" He asked and my eyes opened up a little.

Maybe this completely was a booty call?

I sat for a good few minutes wondering to myself seriously if I was down for that before I sent my number. Within less than a minute an unknown number was calling me. I watched it ring as I sat up but couldn't get my finger to move the inch to take the call.

"Hello?" I spoke frantically after I finally managed to get myself to answer.

"Hey!" He said through the phone and I could hear the smile in his voice. "What are you up to, you busy?"

"Uh no...why?"

I heard voices in the background and instantly relaxed. No booty call.

"Well hey listen, we're all cruising around and I just wanted to see if you wanted to join?"

Cruising around? With Shawn and his friends?

"Uh..." I trailed as I began to think a moment.

I had just gotten home from work and it was almost ten at night. I still hadn't even changed out of my clothes and I'd genuinely been looking forward to laying in bed the rest of the night before my shift again early tomorrow.

Then it dawned on me. Shawn was asking me to hang out and here I was going over my work schedule. I was an idiot.

"Yeah," I said standing up quickly from my bed going to my dresser. "That sounds like fun!"

"Okay, we'll come pick you up. Where you at?"

Then I froze. "Uhhh.... I live a little far from you."

"Like how far?"

"Like Mississauga far." I sighed.

"Oh," I heard. "Oh well, whatever we'll still come get you."

"That's at least a good forty minute drive for you Shawn."

"Doesn't matter."

I felt bad.
