Prologue

"James! Let's go there next!" A little girl in pink dress said as she tugged on her brother's sleeve.

"Okay, okay, no need to pull, jeez." James Reid said as he tried to arrange himself.

It was the 3rd of March, her little sister, Mira's birthday. Unfortunately both their parents were at work and only promised a celebration in the coming weekend. James, however, was able to have a leave on his sister's birthday so here he was now. He only needed a bit of disguise. People also wouldn't expect him being with a little girl and so far, he hasn't been recognized.

The siblings went inside the store Mira pointed at. It was an old doll shop.

Mira at once explored the shop. James, meanwhile, looked around. The shop was full of dolls. They looked old, no doubt antiques.

James heard a crash, his gaze automatically turned to where the sound seems to come from. He saw two young boys playing at the back and a doll lying on the ground.

He approached them.

"This is not a playground." He scolded gently. "Don't play here, okay? You might break something."

The two boys looked at the ground.

"We're sorry." They chorused.

James smiled at them, "It's fine. As long as you understand. Now run along."

"Okay!" The boys said and they exited the shop.

James crouched down and picked up the doll. He returned it to the shelf, arranging its dress which has been dishevelled from the fall.

The doll is... unique, he concluded.

He looked at it closer, moving his face inches from the doll.

"What a pretty doll you are." He murmured.

"James!" Mira called and James distractedly return the doll to the shelf and turned to the direction of the voice.

"Yes, Mira?"

"Can we buy a doll?" She asked, using her puppy eyes on her brother.

James sighed, he was no match with Mira's pleading eyes.

"Yeah, sure..." He said. "Which doll?"

Mira looked around.

"That one!" She said, pointing at the doll James has just replaced on the shelf.

Mira went closer and looked at it. "She's so pretty! I want this one, James."

James smiled. He liked that doll, too.

"Okay then," He said and both went to the cashier to pay for their purchase.

short but I think I need to explain some things before I proceed to chapter 1.

-okay, so obviously this is an AU. in this world, James is an idol--the jpop/kpop/one direction kind coz this isn't set in the Phil. there's also no Nadine Lustre in this world's showbiz. James has two siblings, Harry (Bailey May), who is also starting in the biz with his own group (but so far they are just back up performers) and Mira (Jana Agoncillo).

- i'm really still not sure about this, but let's give it a try. lol.
