“I’m home!” Mira said as she entered their home. She removed her school shoes and proceeded to climb the stairs.

“Hey—“ James started but Mira was already upstairs.

“That girl is always locking herself in her room.” Harry commented as he watched his brother and sister from the living room.

James shook his head and started ascending the stairs intending to talk to his sister.

----

“Bangsie, I’m back!” Mira called going straight to her study table.

“Welcome home, Mira!” Bangsie called waving her hands at her owner.

“I missed you, how was your day?” Mira asked as she took the doll in her hands.

“It was very dull, Ms. Mira. Are you certain you cannot bring me with you to your school?” Bangsie said.

“Bangsie, you’re speaking in a weird way again. I told you to just call me Mira, you are my best friend!” Mira said. “And I’m sorry but I can’t bring you to school, you know we’re not allowed.”

Mira waited for Bangsie’s reply, but she was not moving.

“Bangsie?” She said, worried.

“You’re playing with that doll again.” Mira heard and she turned and saw  James by her door.

“Seriously, you’re scaring me, you’re talking to your doll as if she’s alive.” He said.

Mira didn’t reply.

“You’re always locked up here. And playing with that doll the whole time? Mira, that’s not healthy.”

“I don’t only play doll here. I do my homeworks and chat with my friends on Twitter, too!” Mira retorted pointing at her smartphone.

James looked at her doubtfully.

“It’s true! And I’m a growing girl, I need my privacy!” She added.

James sighed.

“Okay... Just go out sometime, okay? Or you’ll become fat. We’ll you’re already fat.” James teased.

Mira pouted at him as he left her room, but she knew he was just
teasing.

That was when Mira heard a soft sigh.

She looked at Bangsie and giggled.

“Bangsie, you’re always weird when James is around.” She said, her eyes narrowed.

Bangsie, impossibly, blushed.

“You’re not like that with Harry, though. Bangsie, do you like James?”

Bangsie’s cheeks possibly grew redder.

“You do like him!” Mira squealed.

“Oh, this is so wonderful!”

“Ms. Mira! Please keep your voice down!” Bangsie said.

Mira giggled.

“But it’s a great thing!” Mira said.

“Mom always says loving and being loved is a blessing!”

“Ms. Mira! I did not state that I am in love with your brother!” Bangsie exclaimed her face fully red now.

“But that’s where it will eventually go! Mom and Dad started with just liking each other and now look at them! And stop calling me, 'Miss,' Bangsie. Just 'Mira'.”

“Mira!” Mira heard Harry call from below.

“Yeah?” She called back.

“Dinner!” Harry shouted.

“Okay, okay, I’m coming!” She replied.

“Bangsie...” she whispered to the doll silently apologizing because she’ll be leaving her again.

Bangsie smiled understandingly.

Mira stood up and proceeded to go downstairs.

Bangsie sighed as she watched Mira go.

She was used to being alone. She didn’t feel lonely all those years in that old doll shop. She didn’t mind not having anyone to talk to. But after being friends with Mira, she has been so happy but she was also so lonely when she’s gone. She knew she couldn’t do anything about that, though, because aside from Bangsie herself, Mira have so many other friends and loved ones. But Bangsie only have Mira.

Bangsie sighed again. She descended Mira’s table and went to her box under her bed.

She always does this whenever Mira is gone. There was a book there filled with paper with images of Mira and her family. Mira said they were called ‘pikkchurs.’

Her favourite of them all is the image of a little Mira wearing a dress and being held by her older brother. She just looked like a doll. She really like how Mira’s brother take care of Mira. It was just like how Mira takes care of Bangsie.

She turned another page of the album and continued looking at the pictures.

---

“You have another tour?” Mira asked her brothers.

“But my break is only starting!” Mira was looking forward to spending time with his busy brothers this break.

“Well, duty calls so...” Harry said simply.

“It’s just for three weeks.” James said trying to placate her.

Mira pouted. She hates it when both her brothers have a tour. She was always left alone.

“Don’t worry; you have your little doll to accompany you.” Harry teased.

But that brought a smile on Mira's face.

After their dinner, Mira went straight to her bedroom. She played with Bangsie for a bit then she prepared for bed.

She doesn’t return Bangsie in their display cabinet anymore. Her mom gave up on scolding her about that.

So now, Bangsie and Mira always sleep together.

----

“Bangsie.” Mira whispered.

“Yes?” Bangsie asked her.

“I think I can bring you to school today.” She said. It was very early in the morning.

“Really?” Bangsie said, beaming.

Mira smiled and nodded at her. She took Bangsie and carried her.

She went out of her bedroom then down the stairs.

She looked at the doll.

“I’m sorry Bangsie, but I’ll have to put you inside the bag.” Mira said, apologetically.

“Because it’s not allowed, is it not? It’s okay, I understand.” Bangsie said.

Mira opened the bag and placed Bangsie inside. Just before Mira completely zipped close the bag, she gave Bangsie that look. That look she gives when she’s about to leave her alone.
