Peeta's POV •Katniss' face is mixed with anger, confusion, and sadness. I feel terrible for pulling back the memories of her friends and family dying there, so I pull her close to me and kiss her head trying to help her flee from the memories, but it's no use.
Tears drip onto my shoulder while I soothingly pat her back.
"I'm so sorry Katniss i didn't think you'd break down like this," I say, the lump in my throat threatening to choke me, "We won't go."
"No. I want to go. I can't let the past define me for who I am now." She says.
I make a reassuring smile down at her as I wipe away her tears.
"I love you." I say whole heatedly. I truly mean it. She is beautiful inside and out.
"I love you too, Peeta." She says, her lips just pressing against my own.
She breaks away first, and looks into my eyes.
"What was for breakfast?"
I laugh and she smiles.
"Waffles."
