Peeta's POV•
As I rub her back, I say,
"Katniss? I'll take you to the doctor. There's a doctor on the train. It was probably just some bad food, or a stomach bug."
She gives a quick nod and we search the train for the doctors carriage. We walk in and ask the lady at the front desk to see our doctor - Dr. Ballantynn - for a quick check up for Katniss.
"Sure! If you'll just sit patiently in the waiting room, I'll notify her and she will be out in a few minutes."
"Thank you, Macy." I say.
"No problem Peeta." She says with a smile as she turns and moves towards Dr. Ballantynn's office.
As soon as we sit on the hard seats, Katniss swallows as asks shakily,
"Peeta? C-could I be p-pregnant?"
"Katniss-" I start, but get cut off as Dr Ballantynn walks toward us.
"Katniss! Peeta! Nice to see you! This way please." She says cheerily and guides is towards her consulting room.
She sits us down on the seats opposite to her, grabs a piece of paper and a pen, and directs her attention to us.
"So, Katniss. What's happened?." Dr Ballantynn asks.
"This morning I was sick. We were wondering if you could take some tests, just to be sure.."
"Okay! That's fine! I'll run a few tests and in no time, you'll be sure of what's happened"
"Thank you, Dr Ballantyn." Katniss says giving a small smile.
"Please, call me Theta." She smiles.
I go to give Katniss a kiss, but she turns away.
"I don't want to give you whatever I have!" She says seriously, but then gives me a hug. She sees my lips curl into a smile and she smiles right back.
"Okay. Can we start the test? Or do you want to continue being love birds." She says jokingly.
"Let's start." Katniss says.
Theta asks Katniss a few questions, while nodding her head and scribbling away on the piece of paper she equipped herself with before. She hands a short white stick packaged in a small box.
"Pregnancy test?" Katniss reads as she quickly looks up at Theta for confirmation. I can see the worried look in her face, and can only imagine the rate at which her heart is beating right now.
Theta nods her head slowly, stands up, and leads Katniss to the bathroom, mumbling a few words that I can't register.
