A girl no older than 10 was running around with her older brother, giggling to no end. "C'mon Destiny! Catch me if you can!" The boy laughed, a huge grin plastered on his face. When he turned around his sister was no where to be seen. "Destiny? Where are you?" The boy felt his stomach drop. "Boo!" He spun around with wide eyes, before engulfing his little sister in a hug. "I scared you!" She laughed, "Yeah, yeah you did." He smiled and kissed the top of her head.

"Destiny it's time to eat." The boy was now thirteen, he had just sat down on the couch as his sister came from their shared room. "Thank you!" She hopped up and began scarfing down her food. The boy knew she was hungry, she spent to whole day running around outside in the sand. He watched his sister as she happily ate her dinner, a small smile crept on his face.
Once he put Destiny to bed, he went back to the living room and looked out the window. He missed his parents dearly, it was now his responsibility to watch over and care for his sister. "I promise I won't let anything happen to Destiny." He knew his parents couldn't hear him but nonetheless he hoped they could in some way.

Destiny was fourteen years old, her brother sixteen. "Keith, I'm hungry." He laughed as she whined, "Hold on, I'm almost done." Even though they ate peanut butter sandwiches basically everyday, his sister didn't seem to mind.
Keith felt guilty, he never let his sister go out. Of course she could go outside but not to where other people could find her. He was overprotective of her, even though she was bound to the house Destiny didn't care one bit. Her brother was the only person she needed. With no human contact other than Keith himself, Destiny never quite did mature. She was a teenager now but still acted and had the mindset of a child. Keith wanted her childhood to last as long as possible, considering his ended years too early. Invisible to the public eye, Destiny had no need to worry about maturity. She had Keith. So she remained a naive child, but was as happy as could be.

Keith would leave to get supplies after his sister fell asleep for the night. Tonight was no different, or so he thought.
Once their little house was in view Keith's heart clogged his throat. The door was wide open. "Destiny," He whispered in shock, then he took off running. "DESTINY!"
Bursting into the house he searched for her. She wasn't in their bedroom, but the sheets were halfway pulled off the bed and spread across the floor. The nightstand had been knocked over, and the books on the shelf had scattered on the ground. Keith left the bedroom and noticed a trail of broken items. More things were knocked over or scattered and they led to the door. He ran outside and saw footprints leading away from the house as well as marks that looked as if someone had been dragged. Keith grit his teeth, how had he not noticed it before? With a growl, Keith followed the trail. A few meters away from the house, the wind started to pick up. "No, no, no!" He yelled in panic, the wind had dispersed the sand covering the footprints. "DESTINY!" Keith fell to his knees with tears streaming down his face. She was gone. His beloved sister was gone. He broke his promise to their parents. Keith screamed at the top of his lungs.~...~
Destiny was woken up by clattering outside the bedroom, Keith was never this loud. Trying to ignore the noise, Destiny closed her eyes. "Found it." What? Her eyes flew open, that wasn't Keith. "Grab it!" Destiny screamed as she saw tall, scary, purple monsters coming towards her. Before she could get away, strong hands gripped onto her arm. "No!" She yelled, but was cut short by her own scream as she fell out of bed smacking her head on the nightstand in the process. She cried out in pain as she dug her nails into the wooden floorboards. Scratches were left behind as the monsters pulled her away by her ankles. "Keith! Keith!" She sobbed but continued to struggle, this caused the monsters a great deal of annoyance. More things were knocked over in the panic as she got closer to the door, she let out an ear-piercing scream. "Shut it!" One of them yelled and stomped on the back of her head, her face colliding with the ground. Destiny fell silent.
