When I woke up the next morning, I was still in Theo's arms. He was holding me as he slept. I tried to move his hands off, but that accidentally woke him up.
"Sorry," I whispered.
"It's okay," he smiled.
I got up and got a little dizzy. I stumbled backwards against my bed. Theo stood up quickly and grabbed my arms.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah. I'm probably just dehydrated from crying yesterday."
"Okay. Let me carry you downstairs. I can get you some water and breakfast. How does that sound?"
"Amazing."
Theo picked me up bridal style and started to walk out of the room. He made his way downstairs and put me on the couch. I noticed that Stefan and Damon were asleep still.
"Maybe you should put me in the kitchen. I don't want to wake them," I whispered. Theo nodded and picked me up again. He walked over to the kitchen and sat me down on the counter.
I watched as he got things out of the fridge and started cooking. I never knew that he knew where everything was. I guess he paid close attention to everything. I never really did. It's weird how he pays attention to every little thing about me, even before we started dating. He was the one who chased after me and he still does.
"You know, you can stop staring at any time," Theo said with a crooked smile.
"I was staring?" I asked. I didn't know I was staring. I got lost in my thoughts.
"Yeah. It's kind of creepy."
"Well, I prefer the term 'gazing'. It makes it sound romantic."
"Gaze at something else. There's a pretty wall right there."
"I thought you liked when I paid attention to you," I said.
"Attention like kissing and hugging. Or maybe compliments. Not staring."
"You look really good right now."
"Really? Thanks," Damon said from behind me. I turned around and he was leaning against the wall with a smirk on his face.
"I think someone is walking up to the door. I can hear it," Stefan said.
As if on cue, the doorbell rang. Theo walked over to the door and opened it. He started to talk to someone and Stefan went over to the door. I watched as they talked and looked at me nervously.
"What's going on Damon?" I whispered. He heard me and walked over to me.
"It's Nathan. He's here," he answered.
Anger fills me and I get up quickly. I stumble a little bit, but make my way to the door. Nathan sees me and smiles like everything is okay.
"Hey, Chrissie. I was wondering if we could hang out," he said.
"No."
"No?"
"You heard me. No. I know who you are. I know that you shot Theo. I will kill you for that."
Nathan laughed and I looked at him with confusion. What's so funny?
"You really think you can kill me?" He asked.
"Yes."
"We'll see about that. Come out. We can settle this. How'd you figure it out?"
"Your bullet had the Fuller family crest on it and a friend told me you were the last of the Fullers. Why target me?" I asked.
