Jackson had to go to school the next morning, so he left early to go home and get dressed. My dad got called into work and apologized for having to leave me. Theo was the only one who stayed and put me first.

"Thanks for staying, Theo," I said.

"I'll always stay with you," he said as he leaned down to kiss my cheek. Theo was lying next to me like yesterday. On the tv was a movie I didn't even know the name to.

"It's so boring in here," I whined.

"Well, you can't really do anything because of your stitches."

"I know. I hate hospitals sometimes."

Suddenly, the lights flickered on and off. That usually creeps me out, so I squeezed Theo. He hugged me closer to him gently. As we watched the movie, I noticed something black at the door. It looked like the shape of a person. A shadow of a person. I jumped back a little and blinked. When I opened my eyes, it was gone. Maybe it's all in my head. I looked back at the tv and noticed that the door opened in the corner of my eye. I sat up and backed myself away from the door and as close to Theo as possible. He looked at me like he was really confused.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"I s-saw something at the door. Theo, I'm scared."

"It's okay. Do you want me to go check it out?"

"In every horror movie, whoever checks it out will get killed. I don't want you to be killed."

"Those people aren't werewolves. I'll be right back."

Theo got up and went out the door. I waited for him to come back. Right when he got to the door, something or someone pulled him back and he slid on the floor. I called his name and he got up. He started punching someone and the person threw him into the room. He landed on the floor and I tried to lift him up. My stitches broke and blood came out of my wound.

A person with a black mask on walked into the room and yelled at us. He wanted money or some jewelry. We didn't have any with us and told him. He pointed his gun at Theo and said he would kill him if I didn't give him money. Why would you rob a hospital?

I tried to get up and blood dripped onto the floor. Theo told me where his wallet was and I tried looking for it. Suddenly, as I was about to grab it, someone came into the room and started punching the guy who was robbing us. Another person came too and they both managed to knock out the robber.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"We're the vigilantes of this city," one of them said with a voice changer.

I was going to ask another question, but they ran out the door with the robber. Theo ran to me and put me on the bed. He called for help and a nurse came. We told her what happened and she rolled my bed to a surgery room. This time, Theo came in with me and they restitched my wound after putting me to sleep.

When I woke up, I was back in my room. Carter was sitting in a chair and I couldn't see Theo. As if Carter could read my mind, he told me where Theo was.

"Theo went to get you a present or something," he said.

"Okay. Why are you here?"

"I heard about someone trying to rob you guys. I just came to see if you and Theo were okay."

"Are you sick?"

"No."

"Lydia must've really changed you, then."

"Yeah, she has."

Just then, Theo opened the door. I looked at him and it looked like he was hiding something behind the door.

"I heard you're getting me a present," I said with a big smile. I love surprises.

"I have it right here," he said as he brought it out from behind the door. It was a puppy. My mouth opened and I put my hand over it. I was in shock. I love puppies!

"Oh my gosh! Theo! I get a puppy?" I asked excitedly.

"Yup. He's all yours," he said as he brought the puppy to me. I hugged it and it licked my face.

"Thank you so much! Omg! I love you!" I paused immediately after I said that. Oh no. What did I just say? I said the L word. My eyes opened wide and I looked at Theo. His mouth was wide open and he looked as shocked as I was. Carter was sitting down in a chair behind Theo and he was just staring at us.

"Did you just say what I think you said?" Theo asked.

"Oh...uh...I don't know!" I crack under pressure.

"I love you too!"

Theo moved closer to me quickly and kissed me. I kissed him back and felt the dog move in between us. I started laughing and Theo pulled away. He sat down on the bed and kept smiling at me as I played with the dog.

"I think I'll name him...Cody," I said.

"I love that name."

"You know what? He's your dog too. We can share custody of him. He'll be like our little baby."

"Well, you are going to be a great mom."

I smiled and Cody kissed me. I played around with him and when he got tired, he fell asleep next to me. I rubbed him as he slept because his fur was just so soft. Cody is the best present I could ever ask for.

"Are we even allowed to have pets here?" I asked.

"I don't know. I snuck him passed everyone," Theo said with a laugh.

"We should hide him, then. I don't want him to be kicked out."

"I'll hide him...under my shirt."

"What?" I laughed.

"I can wrap him in my shirt. It'll be totally comfortable. Watch."

Theo took his shirt off and put Cody inside it as he slept. Then, he covered everything that would indicate he's a dog and when Theo was done, the shirt looked like it was part of a pile of shirts. Theo put Cody in between us and laid down. He wrapped his arms around me and I started to fall asleep. Being in the hospital isn't so bad now.
