Now that you read the chapter title.... GET YOUR MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER, YA NASTY!  Nothing happened... at least, nothing dirty... ju-just get back to the story!

I stared at the familiar man viciously. At that moment noticed me, his furry caterpillars called "eyebrows" perked up in interest. Our eyes locked. He traipsed toward us, his crippled legs shuffling clumsily.

Then I remembered Hillary had used her amulet then. It had turned purple, right? I looked at my friend. "What does the purple mean on your amulet-thingy?" I asked.

She gave me a look of distress. "The color purple means Olympian," she muttered.

"Olympian? as in, Olympian God?" I gulped. Hillary nodded. Oh great...

I faced the god, who was only ten yards away from the tour group now. They obviously didn't give a crap about the powerful being, but they were sure to payattention when someone gets a spear in the gut or whatever that god did for a living (apparently it was visit museums and scare little girls outside their houses)

I cleared my throat for diction. Then  I spoke. "O great-...er.. great Olympian god!... Um, clarifying question: which god are you exactly?"

The god reached into his coat pocket and somehow pulled out a gray-steel hammer. I hoped to my father's name that he was in a Marvel cosplaying contest and he had just took some wrong directions and ended up here. "I am Hephaestus- god of fire and all craftsmanship!" he roared.

"O-of course! How foolish of me to not recognize you!" I stuttered. Hephaestus. Not so bad. At least it wasn't Zeus. Buteven then  i still had to be careful- one wrong word and I'd be fried Sierra, ready for order. I continued talking to him. "Why are you here? To send us an omen?"

Hephaestus smirked and his eyes sparkled with vivacious insanity. "Simple, yet arrogant demigod," he snickered. "Have you learned nothing about Nyx? Ever since her escape from Tarturus,She has housed the insane and the mentally-ill, bending them to her own will. Chiron, Apollo, Hera, the Chimera, Circe- all of them and more under her spell." I was puzzled. Where was this going?  "Every god that is alive, except for that coward Artemis, is one of her warriors. so let me ask you this- don't you think that includes me as well?"

Crap... I had forgotten of how the gods were either killed or driven against their kingdom, but I had no thought in my mind that... Hillary and I started to back away.

"Ah, now you see what I'm doing here. Though, even if you do defeat me today, I'll be like a bad chest-cold- I will keep coming back until I finally finish you off, little by little." Hephaestushurled  his hammer at the Athena Parthenos.  The monument shattered. I prepared for the god to attack us  when the broken fragments of the statue reconstructed itself. It was now rebuilt, but it now held a ghostly presence. The statue's eyes started to glow menacingly. The Parthenos started to move on its own, shifting awkwardly into a battle stance and picking up her shield and spear.

The rest of the tour group, including Ethan and Hannah, stared at the zombified statue. The mortals stood there in awe, as if it was part of some kind of act. Tina, the delusional tour guide, abruptly scanned through the notes on her clipboard, wondering if the museum made a surprise attraction.

The parthenos then pointed its spear at her. She began to shriek in surprise but a blast of air came from the tip of the spear and froze Tina to stone. Just like the legend said.

"Great," Ethan began sarcastically. "Just when I thought I've had my fair-share of threats today."

Hannah went for whatever weapon she had at the moment- a twin pair of katanas. I thought it would a good idea to break the ole' cross-bone sword. But. no. I had something better to do. "You guys protect the mortal and get them out of here safely. Do what you can to stall Hephaestus. I'm gonna claim our new friend." I gestured to Caleb, whowas still oblivious of what was going on. The three of them nodded. They all ran toward the mortals and herded them like dogs in a sheep pen.
