Song: My Boo by Usher and Alicia Keys
1959
Carmen PatelI never had a lot of friends. Back in Maine, I had two really good friends. I miss them, but they're out of my life now. It doesn't bother me anymore.
Gordie was my friend, even if I have feelings for him, he will always be my best friend. I hope I'm his best friend. He seems really close with his friend Chris. I don't really mind, I've only known him for a few days. I can't expect him to feel the same way about me.
Gordie was coming over soon, and we were going to watch Wagon Train together, since it was on today.
The doorbell rang as I finished tying my hair in a baby blue ribbon. I gasped, and I ran out of my room and down the stairs.
"I got it, Mom!" I said, loud enough to cover the sound of my dog barking. I opened the door, while holding M&M back. Gordie was standing on my front porch. He looked so good. He smiled at me, and I grinned back at him.
"Afternoon, Gordie," I said, and he walked into my home.
Gordie LaChance
Her house wasn't small but it was not overly large either. It was blue, and it had a white picket fence around it, and the grass was all green and cut perfectly. The inside was white, with blue furniture. It was all so, perfect.
I pet her (extremely cute) dog, and watched Carmen through the corner of my eye. She looked beautiful as always.
"M&M, don't lick Gordie!" She scolded her dog.
I laughed, "M&M is her name?" I asked.
Carmen nodded, "I love M&Ms, they're probably my favourite candy," She said.
"Noted," I joked, and she giggled.
"Carmen, is this Gordie?" I looked up to see a lady, probably in her late thirties, who I assumed was Carmen's mother.
"Yes, mama," Carmen said, and I stood up.
I shook her hand, "Nice to meet you, Mrs.Patel, I'm Gordie LaChance," I introduced myself as politely as possible.
"You as well, Gordie. Carmen has told me so many things about you," Mrs. Patel winked, and Carmen gasped.
"Mom!" Carmen whined, and Mrs. Patel waved her daughter off.
"Alright, alright. Have fun kids! I'll be around if you guys need anything," Mrs. Patel said, and she walked away.
"Sorry, my mom can be kind of embarrassing sometimes," Carmen said, and I smiled at her.
"Don't worry, all parents are like that," I reassured Carmen.
"You're right," Carmen said while a small smile tugged on her lips, "Let's watch some Wagon Train!"

Halfway through Wagon Train, I started getting really bored. But, Carmen looked kinda into it, so I stayed quiet.
It's a really cool show, but they never get anywhere. They just keep wagon training.
"Huh?" Carmen said, and she gave me a confused look.
I furrowed my eyebrows, "What?"
"You said, they just keep wagon training," Carmen deadpanned.
"Oh, I didn't mean to say that out loud," I said, and Carmen stood up to lower the volume.
"It was getting kind of boring," Carmen explained.
I nodded, "I agree,"
Carmen Patel
"So, what do you want to do?"
Gordie shrugged, and I bit my lip, racking my brain for ideas.
He looked really cute, and in that moment I really wanted to kiss him.
"Okay, do you want to play truth or dare?" I asked, and he nodded.
"Cool, I'll go first. Truth or dare?"
He hummed, "Truth,"
"Do you like anyone?" I asked hopefully.
He looked down and smiled, "Yeah, I do," he mumbled.
"Really? Who is it?" I knew there was a chance it wasn't going to be me, but I kept my hopes up.
"Well, she's absolutely magical. She wears dresses, and she ties her hair in these adorable ribbons, and she's addicted to strawberry milkshakes, she can't go a day without them. She's breathtaking," A smile spread across my face, and a blush covered my cheeks.
"Gordie LaChance, are you talking about me?" I said, a grin on my lips.
"Maybe," Gordie blushed.
"I hope you are, because I like you too," I said, and his face lit up.
"You do?"
I wrapped my arms around Gordie, and he did the same.
"Yes, Gordie, I like you. Only you,"
