The Return Of Scourge

Chapter 3

Scourge yelped in pain and jumped back, putting one paw over his wound and looking at it to see blood.

He looked at Greystripe and saw him about to get attacked, Scourge leaped forward and got a hold of the rouges back, he continued to scratch and bite until the rouge dropped to the floor, dead.

Another rouge bit his scruff and shook his vigorously from side to side, Scourge twisted around and clawed at the cat, his reinforced dog-teeth claws caught on the cat's ear and Scourge jerked his paw back, ripping the whole ear off.

The cat dropped Scourge and ran off howling in pain. Scourge heard Greystripe yowl in pain and whipped around. A rouge cat had Greystripe pinned down and was aiming for his throat.

Scourge rammed into the cat and sliced his neck with his claws. Scourge pushed Greystripe to his feet and shoved him forward, "Run! don't just stand there!" Scourge hissed, shoving Greystipe one more time and running alongside him and through the brambles and into the camp.

There was a wave of panicked mews before one of the cats stepped forward "I knew it!" the cat hissed "Scourge was a traitor! and he only put up the act to kill us!" the cat had a nicked ear, a long tail, and a dirty blonde pelt with black markings on his; back, ears, face, paws and tail.

"No! I'm not a traitor!" Scourge protested "a pack of rouges attacked us!".

"Longtail, step down. What is the matter?" Firestar's voice rose above the rest.

"They said they were attacked my rouges!" A cat responded, this cat was a Sandy color, with darker spots here and there.

"Greystripe. Is this true?" Firestar angled his gaze towards the Thunderclan deputy.

"Yes. It's true" Greystripe admitted, "but if it wasn't for Scourge, I wouldn't have made it out alive".

"You heard my deputy, now clear out!" Firestar ordered, "Scourge, Greystripe, my den, now".

As the cats cleared out, Longtail hissed before running over to the other cats. Scourge sighed and walked to Firestar's den, entering to see him and Greystripe already there.

"Now, Scourge tell me what happened while Greystripe took you out for hunting" Scourge sat down across from Firestar and stared at the ground.

"The cats that attacked us... Were Ice, Ratbite and Spotflower" He started, "Greystripe was teaching me about the Warrior Code when they attacked, first it was only Ice, then Ratbite and Spotflower came. I managed to kill Ice and send Ratbite yowling in pain, but Greystripe was pinned down by Spotflower." Firestar nodded. "Continue, please".

Scourge sighed again, "So I ran and fought her. I killed her and helped Greystripe to run away and back to camp".

Firestar looked at Greystripe "Is this true?" He asked.

"Yes, it was" Greystripe answered.

Firestar turned back to Scourge, "wait outside my den and come onto the highrock when I say". Scourge walked out and sat beneath the Highrock.

Firestar hopped up "May cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock". The clearing steadily filled in with cats, apprentices and warriors, queens and elders.

Scourge could hear their displeased muttering when they saw him.

"Why is he here?"

"Shouldn't he be dead?"

"Oooo I hope Scourge is getting banished!"

Scourge's ear twitch and his head hung low, These cats hate you Scourge. And they want you dead NOW Quit crawling under my fur Tigerstar and shut up Scourge looked at the worried cats with a hurt look.

"Cats of Thunderclan. As you all know, Scourge had mysteriously came back from death, but aside that point." Firestar flicked his tail and Scourge leaped up on the Highrock beside Firestar "Scourge, I now make you a member of Thunderclan, but you are under strict supervision by my deputy, Greystripe until you have earned your place, Thunderclan!, I wish for you this, to be kind to Scourge and treat him like a clan cat"

All the cats went silent, a few even left, Scourge bowed his head and started to walk off in shame, then the whole clearing burst into cheers with cats shouting his name, not in disgust but with pride "Scourge! Scourge!".

Scourge's eyes shone. This was the family he wanted, he wanted to be loved, and he new this was the right place, even if he had to work hard, he will earn everycats trust and respect. But Scourge will be the happiest he will ever be in this clan.
