i regret moving to first period band

now i play the fucking tuba

but like

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY THE FUCKING TUBA
it was a regular, depressed day

in third period band

anyway

i was happy (pretty sad that i kinda sucked bit i'm a little better than most people so) playing my trumpet

yes my trumpet is named troye sivan

so like mr. vargas (band director) called all the trumpets to the other practice room

and he was like

'i might move one or two of you to first period, but not with the instrument you're playing right now, you'll be a tuba or trombone'

so like minutes later he was like 'so..'

and i was like 'would i be a good candidate' (yes i actually said that, i immediately regretted it, like i do joining band in the first place...jk)

anyway

he said 'yes, but you're actually pretty good at playing'

so i said 'i'll think about it'

he said to go to his office in fourth period and i did

he gave me a mouth piece to like practice with (!?!?!?1!?!?1!?!1?!?!!?1)

and i did and like

a tuba and trumpet mouth piece

are very different in size

it's a lot bigger than what a trumpet mouth piece is ok

anyway

mr. vargas gave me a small tuba (beginner)

and i tried it out

of course

i played to high bc like

trumpets are apparently high

it's what i heard ya know

so i played lower

which is hard as fuck

he said that i actually played louder and better than the tuba players that have been playing for like one year already

so like i said i'll do it

he gave me the mouth piece to keep and a tuba book

now

trumpet notes and tuba notes are pretty different

tuba is a low brass instrument which means that they play low notes (no shit briana)

and a trumpet is a brass instrument

not low

just brass

the tuba notes are like mine but are read differently they're just lower

but are played with the same fingerings as a trumpet

just a different sound

one weeks later i'm in first period band 'playing' tuba

and regreting it
