I love choir concerts. Well, my concerts to be exact; I love being able to share my work. It's especially fun when I have a solo or a curtain act-like tonight. I'm kind of nervous though because this is my first curtain and honestly who doesn't get nervous performing in front of a live audience.

We're warming up in the band room- the choir room is a 'changing room'- when Mr. Adams says, "Okay I want everyone to go out there and do their best! Good luck everyone, Women's Varsity on stage." The show order is: Women's, Mixed, Men's, Treble and then Show. Matt and I's curtain act is in between Men's and Treble, so I have a little bit of time to prepare myself.

I'm walking towards the stage, to wait in the wings before Mixed goes on stage, when I spot Matt walking toward the choir room- behind me- in his silver Mixed shirt and black tie. As he walks towards me he says, "Hey, Ronni, you realize your sash is twisted right?"

I look down and there it is, my sash twists right before it slides through the sparkly buckle at the side of my hip. "No I didn't, but thank you." I reply. I reach back to untie the bow, but for some reason I can't find the end of the bow to undo it. Wow, how smart am I?

Matt sighs, "Here just let me do it."

"No, it's fine, I got it." Where does this stupid bow end?

Matt come around behind me and undoes the bow so that it is now in two pieces. Now its my turn to sigh, "Thanks." I go to pull the string out of the buckle, but Matt swats my hand away.

He hit my hand! "Ow, I think I can handle it from here."

"It's fine you'll probably just screw it up again." Matt pulls the sash out of the buckle and comes around to stand in front of me.

All I can do is stare at him because holy crap he is close and I am really uncomfortable. When he loops the belt back through the buckle his hand grazes my side and I feel a little tingle. Matt is back behind me now and I feel him grab both of the strings. He uses the strings to pull me backwards and I gasp. All Matt does is laugh a really cocky laugh as if he knows how nervous he makes me. And if that is the case he is probably very amused right now. Then Matt ties the strings into a neat bow.

     "Thanks." I say breathlessly.

"No Problem, Princess..." Matt leans forward and stop at my ear, "by the way you're going on a date with me next Friday, you didn't think I forgot about your journal did you?" He straightens and walks away.

I lean up against the wall, "damn that boy." I whisper.

Mixed went well and now I'm running back to my dressing room- on the other side of the stage- to change for my curtain act. I push the door open and start looking through my duffle bag; I only have about seven minutes to change and be in place ready to go on stage. I slip into a black skater dress and debate whether or not to change my shoes. Oh screw it, I walk out of the dressing room still in my character shoes because if I change them I'll just have to change them back.

When I round the corner I see all my friends walking down the hallway. They all wave excitedly at me, "You look hot!" Krysta eyes.

     "The hottest!" Audrey agrees.

     "Thanks." I smile.

"Are you nervous? You know, first curtain act and all?" Carter asks.

"Little bit, but I really should get to my spot." I rush.

"Okay, go, go, go!" Katie pushes me.
