It's snowing again and I'm at Matt's house babysitting his little sister, Lauren, since he didn't "feel like it". He is currently over at Ian's house, but he should be home soon. Lauren and I are sitting on the floor having tea party with Mr. Bear, who is rocking a straw sunhat and Bailey, her "Just-Like-You" American Girl Doll. As I adjust my tiara, Lauren asks proudly, "Mr. Bear, would you like some more tea?" To which he "nods". I laugh as she takes the tea pot into her small hands. She is so adorable.
I open my mouth to ask for some more tea when the door opens. Matt sets his keys down on the side table to the right of the door and yells, "home." He looks between Mr. Bear and I and stifles a laugh, "Well, I'll be upstairs if you need anything."
"But, Matt, don't you want to join the tea party?" I fein sadness.
"Oh I don-" he is interrupted by Lauren dragging him to the open spot next to me.
"Hey, where's your bathroom?" I ask.
"Upstairs on the right." Matt replies.
"Okay, I will be right back. Don't have to much fun without me." I look at Lauren. I walk upstairs and find the bathroom, but I also find Matt's room. I turn my head ever so slightly over the balcony to make sure no one is looking- Lauren has Matt's full attention- and slip in. Now, if I was Matt, where would I hide a journal. I look through his desk drawers, nothing. I check under the bed and on top of the dresser, nope. I'm checking inside the closet and I hear, "You're not going to find it in here."
I turn around, guilty, "You see, I thought about that and then I thought that maybe you put it in here because it seemed so obvious."
"Ah, clever." Matt smirks.
"Shut up." I walk out of his room and back downstairs to the tea party.
After tea, Lauren starts asking a lot of questions, as kids do. "Ronni, do you sing too?"
I laugh, "Yes, I'm in the same choir as Matt."
"Ooh, that must mean you're good! Can you sing for me?" Lauren pleads.
"I-I guess-,"
"I don't know Laur..." Matt interrupts. I furrow my brows at him. He leans over and whispers. "She will make you sing one song 500 times, trust me."
"Awe, why?" Lauren pouts.
"Because it's late." I look at the clock and he's right, it's 9:30.
"Yes, you have to get into bed."
"Okay..." Lauren sulks, but does as I say.
Matt and I flop onto the couch and he turns on the tv. "You know you can leave right?" He turns his head towards me.
"Actually," I glance his way, "I can't. Your mom told me I had to stay until she came home." We sat there for a good half an hour before I felt Matt looking at me. I look over at him, "What?" I ask.
"Nothing..." Matt replies, "Are you ticklish?"
Well I know where this is going. "Nope." I pop the P at the end.
"Are you sure?" He smirks.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure." I laugh.
Then Matt tasers me and I, naturally, jump.
"Ha! I knew you were lying." He points at me accusingly.
"Oh come on, everyone has that reaction when they are poked in the side." I respond nonchalantly.
