This tale nucleated in the comment section of @jinnis' short story "One Thousand and One" (to be found in issue #33 of @Ooorah's WP leading SciFi magazine "Tevun Krus").
@jinnis and @RainerSalt started out by discussing Wimots, a unique race of tripodian creatures roaming the grasslands of a lonely planet far, far away. From there, the conversation turned (as it inevitably does with citizens of a certain small alpine country in Europe) to cheese and chocolate, and from there to the Gods giving up hope in the human race and turning their attention elsewhere.
Once the humans were out of the picture, the tale started to get interesting. Here it goes.
