Alice:

Let just pretend that I didn't went to the cinema and made myself look like a fool for bothering to go there even though I know he wasn't looking for me or anything. He's just one of those guys who will play with your heart, make you realise that they have feelings for you but the truth is- this is just another silly games for them. They want you to make you feel like you're important to them but the truth is - you're just another toy to play. I should give up looking for him but Priscilla was right, I should give this a shot if it's about finding my happiness... It's not going to hurt me right- or would it?

I brushed those thoughts off and heard my phone did a reminder noise and I check up on it and my eyes surely does pop out of its socket because it says: Mom's birthday.

Goodness me! How can I forget about my mother's birthday? I'm the most horrible daughter ever and I don't even have gift for her! I need to get her something. I changed my clothes, got ready and hurried downstairs.

''Dad! Oh my gosh! Dad!'' I shouted as soon as I saw dad in the kitchen reading his newspaper and having a sip on his coffee.

''What?'' He asked.

''its mom's birthday.'' I whispered and he spilled his coffee and look at me dead in the eyes.

''Are you serious?'' He asked and I nodded.

''Oh crap, I don't have any gifts for her'' He said

''So do I! So come on let's go to the mall!'' I half shouted and we hurried to the car, knowing my mom she wouldn't wake up until twelve midday today because it's her birthday and I don't want her to be disappointed for forgetting her birthday. I never missed her birthday, usually I would buy her two days before her birthday but this two days past I was too caught up with the guy in the cinema and I feel guilty.

Dad parked the car and we hurried inside the mall and broke direction to find gift for my mother. I don't even know how to do this because half of my brain is telling me something and half was telling me to focus on finding my mom a present. I shook my head and try to focus on finding my mom a present.

Last year, I gave her a personalised mug, a candle set and a personalised small antique trinket box. I don't want to give her the same again because she complains a lot... I look through the sea of dresses and found something that I know she'll like it. It's a lace shift dress that has lace details around it and a zip on the back. Knowing my mother, this would fit her perfectly, she got a body of a teenage girl but the thing is she's not a teenager anymore; she's thirty-nine today but still got mistaken as teenager... I pick that dress up and look around for more just encase.

''Uhmm, how about this?'' I heard a girl's voice said and I ignored it as I'm too engulf with looking at the dresses.

''Yeah... that's uh nice?'' a familiar voice said that made me tilt my head and only to curse underneath my breath as I saw his black hair, geeky eyeglasses. He wasn't looking at me, he was looking at the blonde haired girl who's looking for something asking for his thoughts. When the girl walked further away, he just stood there awkwardly and look around. I saw him sigh and look into my direction. His eyes twinkled as he made eye contacts with me and he smiled- the smile that so different from the way he was smiling at the blonde girl earlier. I smiled back at him and he walked over to me, my heart beats louder than anything and I began to panic. I tried to steady myself and told myself not to be stupid or anything.

''Hi.'' He hailed.

''Hey.'' I smiled biting my lip.

''I- I didn't expect you to be here....'' He said and I nodded.
