Isabella pulled her head away from, and this action only made Dax move closer to her. While doing so he grabbed her waist so she wouldn't leave.
"Think about it Bell, maybe your my second chance."
Second chance? I never thought about it. I know it hasn't been very long since Dax and I started dating, well I don't know if we are dating but he sure helped me forget about Ian. But what if he changes after we get serious about our relationship? That's what Ian did. One day he was perfect, and then one day he wasn't. He got angry, and possessive. Maybe I should just end this before that happens. That's what I'll do, I'll end this before Dax turns into Ian, that way I'll save myself from the pain. Isabella thought to herself.
"Dax." Isabella said.
"I'm happy with you, Dylan loves you, maybe this is what we need..." Dax rambled on.
"Dax!" Isabella slightly yelled.
"Yes?"
"Maybe we shouldn't do this." Isabella said lowering her head.
"What?" Dax said faintly.
"I just don't have it in me to be hurt by another man." She whispered.
Dax looked hurt, no, Dax was hurt.
"Isabella, do- do you think I'll hurt you? I know what it feels like to be hurt by some one you care about ! My wife walked out on my son and I," He started to stand up. "Why would I ever break someone's heart like that? You really think that I'd want to cause you pain like that?" At this point Dax was pacing back and forth around the living room.
"I wasn't talking about that kind of pain." She whispered to herself, hoping Dax wouldn't hear her.
But he did.
"What are you talking about?"
Isabella didn't answer.
"Bell!"
Dax began to walk towards Isabella her reached for her chin to lift her head up, then she flinched.
This startled Dax, then he began to put the pieces of the puzzle together.
Her bruises, she was talking about pain. How could I not have noticed? Did she think I was going to hit her?
"Isabella." Dax whispered. "Who hurt you?" he said with caring eyes.
"It's nothing, forget about it. Forget this conversation." Isabella said walking away quickly.
Dax chased after her and grabbed her arm. He pulled her close to his body and said "Tell me." with his eyes almost in tears.
She wanted him to just let her go, but he wouldn't. They sat back down on the chair and Isabella told Dax everything, from the abuse, to her being locked in the house all day everyday, she told him every tiny detail up until she got her job as Dylan's nanny. All of this infuriated Dax, but he was more worried about how Isabella felt than hurting the idiot that caused her pain.
"You are so strong." Dax said.
Isabella looked up at him surprised.
"Are you trying to be funny?" she asked.
"No, I am serious. You are a strong woman, you went through all of that and you still walk around with a smile on your face as if nothing happened. No woman should ever had to go through that, but I will never hurt you Isabella, I am not that kind of man. I want to be everything he wasn't for you. I can't do that if you won't let me."
His words touched my heart, but words simply weren't enough anymore. Ian would say he wouldn't hit me again, and he always did. What makes Dax different?
"I am not him." Dax pulled her close, and ran his fingers through her hair. "Will you give me a chance to show you that." Dax begged.
Isabella didn't say anything, she just kissed his cheek. That meant yes to Dax. He cupped her face in his hands, and kissed her.
"Don't leave us." Dax said through their kiss.
At that moment Isabella realized that while she was afraid that Dax would turn into Ian, Dax was afraid that she would turn into Vivian. They were both just two people who had been hurt in the worst ways.
