The Colors of Love

Chapter 19

The Hamilton house was awaiting the arrival of Philip's new friend Theodosia when the doorbell rang. Alex got up and walked to the door answering it. "Hello It-...wait Burr?!

Aaron Burr looked at Alex. "What on earth are you doing here Alexander?"

Alex crossed his arms and frowned slightly. "I live here. What are you doing here?"

Aaron sighed. "My wife told me that this is the location of our daughters friend. I assume we have the wrong house."

Alex looked at Burr and then down at Theodosia. "She must be Theodosia. Philip is inside." He said. She nodded and ran past him to Philip. Alex looked back up at Burr. "Would you like to come in?" He asked slightly irritated.

Burr nodded before looking at the tiara on top of Alexander's head. "Whats with the tiara?"

Alex blushed and was about to say something snarky when John walked up behind him. "I gave it to him. It looks very nice on him I think."

Burr looked at John. "I don't believe we have met. I'm Aaron Burr. I take debate class with Alexander."

John nodded and shook his hand. "My name is John Laurens. I am Alex's boyfriend."

Burr looked at the two. "Alex you're gay?"Alex growled slightly. "I'm bisexual and even if i was is that a problem?"

Burr held his hands up defensively and shook his head. "No, however it's not what I expected. I had you pegged as a lady killer." he shrugged.

John laughed and put his arm around Alex. "No he's mine and I'm his."

Burr smiled. "That's actually really sweet."

The kids played for the rest of the night while their parents talked. "So Alexander Theo tells me that your son can't speak. Is he mute?"

Alex looked at Pip who was having lots of fun. "Not exactly he is very shy and will not talk to anyone that is not very close to him. If they stay friends he might talk to her eventually."

Aaron nodded. "Theo is very outgoing. She makes friends easily. It's nice to see her helping other kids be more confident. "

Alex nodded. "She dose seem like a very nice girl."

Aaron left with Theodosia at around seven and Philip went to his room to get ready for bed. While Alex and John were watching TV John looked over at Alex.

"You really do look beautiful in that tiara."
