Confrontation

Eli missed Slugterra already, the danger and exhilaration were a big part of him now as an everyday event. Not that school wasn't fun. Scratch that it was worse than ever, teachers giving him extra attention and homework, crowds of kids asking where he went, and Butch and Claire having to be his bodyguards all hours of the day. 

When Eli got home he went straight to his room and got Burpy out of his bag. Burpy had been in there all day staying out of sight, Eli didn't trust him to anyone else. He and Burpy discussed how the week should go before they returned to the gang, he had to tell his family he was leaving and that his dad was still alive and needed help, he needed to explain to Claire he wont be back for years (or until he got his dad back). 

"Eli?" a knock came from his door. It was Butch. Eli looked at the clock, it had only been an hour and a half.

"Ya? What's up?" Eli looked up to see Butch come in followed by Claire. Eli could tell something was up by the nervous glance from Butch. Eli frowned as Claire pushed him to the side.

Butch seemed to try say something but Claire spoke over him, a clear fire in her eyes but also some sadness and something else, "You're leaving?!? I thought you just got back, I thought you were staying!"

Eli sighed and glanced at Burpy hiding behind him, Burpy shrugged, and looked back at his visitors, "In one week yes. I was going to tell you before I left. I'm needed back where I was."

"And were is that exactly? You were very vague when we talked about it and I can tell you're hiding something so don't give me a bullshit excuse" Claire seethed, she looked hurt and betrayed.

Eli was silent as he thought of what to say, he couldn't reveal Slugterra nor how he was searching for his Father, but it wouldn't be enough to say he was running away again. He needed time to think about it. 

"Well, uh, why don't we go to 7-11 for Slurpees and stuff? Eli owes me two." Butch said glancing at Eli. Eli smiled and did a slight nod, grateful for the excuse.

 "Ya it's kinda stuffy in here anyways," he said getting up, dragging Claire behind.

"But-" Claire tried to protest but Butch helped push her out the door.
