The Surface

40 minutes had passed and Butch was at wits end. He was worried like crazy of what trouble Eli had gotten into, and he couldn't get Claire to leave so that he and his family could find Eli without the information leaks.

There was a knock at the door. Butch scrambled to get it hoping it was Eli since it was to soon to be his mom, but Claire got there first. "Who are you?" she looked down on the redheaded girl standing in the doorway. Butch recognized the green hoodie, orange skirt and black leggings he had left near the drop.

"Trixie?" He pushed past Claire to see Eli's friend standing in the doorway with a duffel bag that looked to big for her to carry, though she carried it with ease, and the small backpack he had left for her.

"Hey Butch, I need to get something from Eli's room. Then I'll get out of your way," she said as she attempted to push past the two people standing in the doorway, but Butch grabbed her and pulled her into the living room.

"What the hell are you doing here! This is the surface-" He stopped as he realized that Claire was still there, but he was still mad for her just showing up as Eli disappeared.

"Why did you call this the surface? People don't live in caves anymore doofus, and who the hell are you? Eli isn't here so there's no need for you to be here." Claire turned to Trixie after questioning Butch, still asking for an answers from both.

Butch glanced at Trixie, "She's one of Eli's friends. Why are you here anyway?" He guessed that he had contacted his friends someway but wasn't sure how.

"Uh I got a letter from Eli something about a North American champion and needing to follow him so let me get the stuff and find him. I have his backup." Butch stiffened at the mention of the 'North American Champion'.

Butch thought for a second before letting her go saying that she had to come right back after grabbing whatever Eli had left her. She disappeared for a couple of minutes before coming back down with some papers that she was reading and a weird orb that was black and green, it seemed to glow.

She looked up from reading at Claire, "You're Claire right? He says to leave, he doesn't want you involved," She turned to Butch, "you too Butch, you're not trained."

"Like hell I am!" Both said at the same time. Trixie  just rummaged though the papers and got out two envelopes with their names on it and handed them to both of them.

---------------------------------------------------

Trixie watched as Butch and Claire's eyes widened when reading the notes. She hadn't read them but she guessed they were blackmail from the instructions Eli had left in a hatch hidden under a carpet in his room. "He says he'll spread those if you try to follow me or him," she carefully slipped the notes in her bag as to not show what was inside and started to climb the stairs again.

"How the hell?- Wait where are you going?" Butch asked as he saw her start to leave the room.

"Where else? I'm gonna chase his shadow," She called down with a smile entering his room and setting up the ShadowWalker.

"Trixie wait!" Butch called as he and Claire got to Eli's room in time to see her disappear in the same black mist that Eli had.

----------------------------------------------------

Eli landed far from his house, probably another city when they got to where ever he was 'needed'. It looked to be a bigger city, sitting on the edge of town you could see lots of skyscrapers and office buildings of all shapes and sizes, and it was a bit cold even for the end of April. "Where are we?"

"Toronto. Well the outskirts anyway," a new voice sounded from behind him. Eli turned to see a Girl around his age standing in the shadows with a small blaster pointed at him. She glanced at the ShadowClan that had brought him, "Who the bloody hell is this? I said I didn't need help, dumb Clanner," She held a mixture of British and something else in her accent. She had a fading purple to blue ombré hair, with slight red roots that were beginning to grow out, that was pulled back into a ponytail. The girl also wore black torn jeans and a matching black leather jacket that had slugs poking out of the pockets, underneath she wore a dark green shirt with a blue pattern.

"Toronto? That's in Canada though!" Eli looked around, he never went travelling because it could mean missing out on seeing his dad visit and even after his dad disappeared they only had stayed to day trips never internationally, "I don't even have a passport."

"He seems well experienced and holds an Infurnus." The warrior seemed steady in its decision.

"So? I can probably beat his ass right now, he only has one slug. Anyway, the slugs aren't in need of a beating they need medicine to turn them back," the girl seemed stressed and Eli noticed she also had a ShadowTalker on.

Eli looked at the ShadowClan that was standing next to him, "She can withstand the power of the ShadowTalker? That's impressive, I've seen what it can do to a mind that's not ready. Who is she anyway?"

"'She' is standing right here and her name is Alex, Alex Creed. Who the hell are you anyway?"

"Eli Shane," Eli looked at the warrior, "So this is the daughter of Creed" he turned back to Alex, "I take it you are continuing your parents' job?

"How did you-"

"They do that when they respected them, and before you ask it was my dad." Eli cut her off.

"God you're confident for being held at point blank," she readjusted her aim on him.

"How long since we left?" Eli was looking at the Warrior.

"Approximately 50 minutes, why do you ask Son of Shane

Eli smiled, "Burpy," the slug looked up from him from his shoulder, "Can you give me a hand?"

The slug jumped up onto the blaster and across to Alex's hand, he sat there and added heat. With a yelp, she released the blaster that was caught by Eli and fell back. The ShadowClan warrior started to move towards the two but stopped as Eli Put up his hand, "I'm not gonna hurt her. But she might hurt her." He pointed over to where he had originally appeared with the warrior.

"Who?" Alex said glaring at Eli before she saw the black mist form a pale girl with red hair and a green hoodie on. She pulled out her blaster as soon as she realized what Eli was doing.
