All above students will be eligible to participate in real life missions with the authorization of a professor. They are also authorized to be pulled out of class because of such missions.
Liam almost couldn’t believe it. He stared at the paper with widened eyes, not paying attention to anyone else’s name on the list besides his own team members. It seemed impossible. He had hoped that they had done well enough to get a secure place on the rankings, but he had not expected to score so high that they were third place.
Harry explained that because the brunette had done so well with saving Kyle Walter’s life, the professors had only deemed it fair that they give him some bonus points to his performance grade. It was, after all, because of that that Liam was unable to do well during his physical examination.
“So it all works out in the end!” Louis cheered.
Although he was happy that they had finally accomplished their goal, Liam couldn’t help but feel a bit uneasy. It wasn’t until he saw his name on the list that he truly realized what it would mean for him to be on it. “So this means…”
“Yup, we get to do missions in the real world!”
Ever since he saw what Kyle Walter’s had been put through, he was terrified of what could happen while they were out there, not that he let anyone know. In the Recreation room, everything was just a dream, and even if it hurt, nothing was real. But outside the school doors was very real, and any one of them could get seriously injured. Serious enough, that no power would be able to save them. If something went wrong, their lives would be put at stake.
The brunette reminded himself that this was exactly what he had signed up for, that he knew he would be doing things like this when he agreed to enter Hero Academies. That he should have known this was to be expected when he, along with the other boys, aimed for the top ten. This was what he wanted, Liam told himself. He just hoped that he wouldn’t regret it later.
Despite his wishful thinking, their first mission came up much sooner than he had hoped for. In fact, it was merely days after they were announced as third best in the school. They had all been in separate classes, called together to the dean’s office. Although Liam wasn’t exactly sure what they were being called down for, he had an idea, and was dreading it.
It was, unfortunately, precisely what he had predicted. When the five teens entered the room, the dean greeted them warmly, motioning for them to take a seat. His smile, although pleasant, was business like, hinting at what was to come.
“Boys, boys, it is so nice to see you. I’m sure you all know what I called you down here for.”
None of them said anything, not completely sure whether to answer or not. The dean continued, however, before they could say a word.
