Michael's eyes fluttered open, and he squinted against the warm sunlight that flooded in through the window. With a groan, he sat up and rubbed his eyes, adjusting to the light as he looked around the blurry room.
Spotting a dark blur beside him, he reached out and grabbed his glasses. He put them on and looked around again. He was in his basement, sprawled out on a beanbag chair. A gaming controller layed on top of his chest, and he was still wearing his clothes from the day before. To his left was a sleeping Jeremy, curled up in the other beanbag chair, fingers loosely curled around his own gaming controller.
Michael stared, stunned, then began to laugh as he recalled the events prior to this. He and Jer' had passed out during a gaming all-nighter, hadn't they? He covered his mouth, trying not to wake up the sleeping boy beside him.
As his laughter subsided, he went to grab Jeremy's shoulders and shake him awake, but paused as his gaze met Jeremy's face.
Jeremy's cheek was squished, gently pressed to the blue beanbag chair. His mouth was slightly parted, letting out quiet snores as his chest rose and fell. A few strands of messy, cinnamon-brown hair fell into his face, slightly covering his right eye. And his eyes... His eyelids fluttered gently as he dreamt.
He looks so peaceful...
Michael retreated his hand, nervously running it through his dark brown hair. He turned away, a faint red dusting his cheeks and burning the tips of his ears. He couldn't deny just how udderly adorable Jer' looked when he was sleeping. Michael glanced back at him, his heart fluttering at the thought of being able to wake up to that same, peaceful face...
He shook his head before a dopey, love-struck smile could be plastered into his lips. He hid his face in his hands, warmth radiating off his flushed face. He was so helplessly in love with that boy, wasn't he?
Uncovering his face, he reached out and gently grabbed Jer's shoulder. As much as he would love to wake him up with a kiss-- no. He pushed that thought aside and gently shook Jeremy.
"Jeremy," he said softly. "It's morning."
His only response was a quiet groan from Jeremy, who stirred and turned away, covering his eyes from the sunlight with his arm.
Michael chuckled. "Come, Jer'! We can go get something to eat."
Silence. Then, he could hear Jeremy's stomach softly growl with hunger. He rolled over and gave Michael a defeated look. Michael laughed and stood up, stretching. "Come on, dork," he said, grinning at the still-sleepy Jeremy. "Get up."
Jeremy let out another quiet groan, and sat up. He brushed strands of his messy bed-head from his face, then blinked and stretched out his arms. He gave Michael a pleading look, causing Michael's heart to skip a few beats.
His face began to flush a dark shade of red at the look of Jeremy; his bed-head curls sprawling out in different directions, his eyelids still droopy... And the sweet, puppy-dog eyes that he was giving him.
How could he resist that face..?
"F-Fine," Michael murmured. "I-I'll c-carry you..."
He stepped forward and lifted up Jeremy; who was surprisingly pretty light. Jer' wrapped his legs around Michael and burried his face into the crook of Michael's neck, his head resting on his shoulder.
Michael muffled a squeak, his face burning. A wobbly smile broke out on his lips as he glanced at Jeremy, only able to see a mess of curly hair.
He began to carry Jer' upstairs, still a flustered mess. He reached the kitchen and flicked on the light, ready to set Jeremy down at the table and get the two of them breakfast. He couldn't deny that he was starving, too.
"Jer-Bear, we're here. Can you let go?" He said, playfully ruffling Jeremy's hair.
No response.
"Jer'?" Michael said, raising an eyebrow as he turned to try and look at Jeremy. He froze, suddenly being met with more, soft snores. He smiled, letting out a few small chuckles.
Michael placed Jeremy down at the kitchen table, and Jer's head fell to rest in his arms as soon as he sat down.
"I'll make us some breakfast, sleepy-head," He teased.
A small, content smile broke out on Jeremy's face as Michael turned and stepped into the kitchen.
