The night of my 25th birthday was a long one. I was sitting alone singing my favourite song when I was aware of someone else's presence. I could tell it was a girl by the way her body moved, lightly on her feet, but also quick and agile. I kept singing, hoping she wouldn't look into my eyes and fall in love like the others did. She was approaching on my left and, I was about to turn and ask her what her name was when she collapsed and fell head first into my arms. The second I saw her face I knew, she was the next woman who would break my heart. She was sprawled out in my arms, with her beautiful blonde hair draped over my leg and her stomach was rising and falling with every staggered breath she took. I took my hand and stroked her cheek, which made her eyes fluttered open and they pinned me with a green, so beautiful, I had only seen its shade in paintings. She looked up at me and spoke.

"You have blood in your hair." She stated. I reached up and felt the back of my head where the blood from my challenger earlier on had splattered.

She reached out and touched the cheek right under my left eye, and the second her fingers made contact with my skin, she went unconscious. I couldn't leave her alone in the dark so I took her to my small house. I gave her some water by gently trickling it down the back of her throat, and I made her comfortable on a pile of blankets. Wondering what to do next I lit a candle and tried to read my book but the words danced across the page. I could not focus. I glanced over and she was sitting upright with her green eyes fixed on me and a small but scared smile on her face. She drew in a deep breath,

"I am Helen, and I'm from Sparta."
