Chapter 15
We were punished. For disturbing Kaka's sleep.
She punished both those who caused trouble and those who didn't. Right now, we are all kneeling down in front of her as she sits on the long couch. She made us kneel horizontally, starting from the oldest to the youngest. Junior Junior being the first and David being the last.
After kaka shouted that one time, she refused to talk again.
"Kaka we're sorry." I said.
She didn't reply but just wrote on her pad. She rose her pad for all of us to see what she wrote in bold.
'I'm going to make sure every single one of you work.' She wrote. 'That's your punishment.'
Daniella and Davina groaned while Junior Junior rose his hand.
"But I'm not a member of this house." He said.
Kaka didn't say anything and took her pad down to write on it.
"You just talked like two minutes ago." Davina complained, "So I don't see the point of wasting our time here by writing everything down."
Kaka rose her index finger to her, indicating that she should shut up. I rolled my eyes at Davina who was kneeling beside me. The more she talked, the ruder she gets.
Kaka pushed her glasses up and wrote on her pad again then flipped the page to continue writing. After she was done, she rose it to Junior junior's front.
'I will send a message to your mother to give you your punishment.'
He frowned and muttered to himself in annoyance, "Who sent me to come here in the first place."
Kaka flipped the page and turned it to all of us.
'Since it's late, your punishment will be tomorrow.' She wrote, 'You can stand up.'
We all stood up and Daniella kept whining about her knees paining her, when we only knelt down for three minutes. Do these people get any more spoilt.
Everybody sat on their former positions on the couch and sofa while I was making my way to go to the room. Before I could go, kaka stopped me and gestured that I should sit next to her.
I sat down and waited as she wrote, making me more impatient.
"You know you don't have to hide your voice to us anymore." I said, "We just saw you talk which means you can freely talk to us inside and nobody will know outside."
She looked at me and mouthed 'no' before turning back to her pad. I sighed and looked away. There was no need for pushing somebody who didn't want to talk to say anything.
But the question was, why has kaka been pretending not to talk all these while? I had a feeling she didn't just become dumb out of the blues.
