It was quiet as Louisiana, Iowa, and California made breakfast.

Today marked the 6th day since Alfred's death.

And over the course of those 6 days, alot has changed.

On day one to three, most of them had picked fights with John who in the end gave them black eyes and bruises.
But from day four to now, many states, capitals, and cities were going quiet.

Many of them had lost hope of escaping John.

They were trying, really trying, to stay hopeful that someone or something would save them.

But they couldn't anymore.

It wasn't like their other siblings or cousins could do anything without starting a war anyway.

Everything happened for a reason.

So what was the reason of Alfred dying and John winning?

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

South Carolina woke up and got ready for the day, she sighed.

Another day.

Her room was dark. She had covered her windows so Alfred wouldn't watch over her but she knew that he could still see her.

He probably hated her, after all.

She was the first to team up with the guy who killed him.

She knew her other siblings must have hated her too. She had paved the way for the other Confederate states to secede.

She would never forgive herself.

She didn't belong with them. She was a monster. Sure, maybe Alfred had forgiven them but not her.

He would never forgive her.

"I'm sorry," she quietly said before heading downstairs.

She saw that her siblings were already down and talking with each other quietly.

She grabbed a plate and fork, put some food on it, and started heading back upstairs. She felt her sibilngs' gaze on her but didn't look at them.

"Courtney, you should stay," She heard Austin say.

She couldn't face them and just shook her head, "I'm sorry," She rushed upstairs.

They all just sighed and looked at each other. Courtney had isolated herself from them. They knew she thought they hated her. But honestly, they didn't.

North Carolina and Colombia (South Carolina's capital) were about to go after her but froze when they heard footsteps coming.

Courtney was the only one upstairs other then....

Him

They all quieted down and kept eating.

John walked downstairs and sat down. He rolled his eyes at the quietness.

Honestly, they all loved Union. Even during the war, he could tell they still cared about him.

And now Union was dead.

But no, they couldn't get that stuck in their heads.

Union was gone damnit.

The day he died was the best day of his life.

He was Union's replacement so he was their brother now. They always were slient around him, but he bet they wouldn't be slient around Union.

The first three days they were here it was always Union this and Union that.
