Party (P3)

Lance's POV

I was so nervous, I was shaking. Shiro pulled me to the side.

"Lance you'll be fine, just have fun. She likes you and you like her. Just act they way you usually do and you'll," he said as he fixed my tie. I was fidgeting I was so nervous.

"I guess" I said, my stomach was was turning cartwheels and I was thinking of all the things that could go wrong. He put his hand on my shoulder shaking me free of any bad thoughts. He seemed to be staring into my mind. 

"Lance, you'll be fine," he said sure of himself, he look over my shoulder and smiled.

"Go get'em," he smiled spinning me around. Before I had time to comprehend what he meant, I saw her. In that moment, I fell in love with her. She seemed to be glowing, she was gorgeous. Everything seemed to cancel out, the music the talk, all I saw was her. Only one thought crossed my mind.

Your POV

"Hey," I smiled. Lance just stared at me his eyes all dewy, I hoped he couldn't see me blush in this lighting. He shook his head, shaking away whatever trance he was in. 

"Uh-you look-you look incredible," he cleared his throat and stuttered, I smiled. 

"Thank you Lance, you look very handsome yourself," I have no idea how I wasn't freaking out, in fact Lance seemed more nervous than I was. 

"Thanks," he said, gaining some composure, "Do you wanna dan-" he was about to say but then Hunk jumped in the middle of us. 

"(Y/N) come try my original creation," he said gleefully and pulled me away from Lance. 

"Peanut butter, chocolate, ham sandwich," he said handing me a small bite on  a toothpick. I looked over at Lance who just smiled small. Before I could politely leave Hunk shoved the sandwich in my mouth, catching me off guard. 

I chewed on the sandwich preparing to be repulsed, "Hunk, maybe you," but the more I chewed the more I realized it was actually delicious, "should may more of these, these are delicious," I swallowed and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. I tried to make my way to Lance again, but then pop music came on and Allura pulled me into a dance. I couldn't help but laugh when she spun me around. I tried to tell her about Lance but she was to busy dancing.   

" (Y/N), I got your room set up it's right next to Lance's " she shouted over the music. I laughed, "Thanks Allura."

I finally got pulled out of the whirlwind and made my way to Lance. Before I could get there Pidge pulled my over. 

"(Y/N) I can't reach the volume nob can you turn it up for me?" she asked.  I was about to do it when I had one request. 

"Only if you play a slow song," I bargained, she nodded and I turned the volume up. I finally had a clear path to Lance. 

"Sorry about that," I smiled sheepishly. 

"It's ok, it was adorable to you give in so many time," he laughed. I giggled and then a slow song came, we both looked at everyone. Allura and Shiro began to dance, Hunk offered Pidge and dance but just swayed back and forth and arm lengths apart. I turned back to Lance, who already had his hand out. 

"Would you like to dance?" He asked, I nodded and took his hand. 

"Tell me how this goes again?" he looked down at my open toed shoes. I smiled and took his left hand. 

"Then I put this right here," I my right hand on his left shoulder. I blushed a little when I realized how close we were. 

"And finally," I intertwined our free hands and lifted them in the air appropriately. We swayed with the music. I finally looked into his eyes, they were dewy with daydreams. 

"Follow my lead," I whispered into his ear and pulled back. Just as we did on the training deck, we stepped in squares and spun in circles letting the music sweep us away.  I hadn't realized it once again but I was singing along to the song. 

"But if I see you in my dreams tonight, and maybe you were right, I'll call you in the morning. If I see you in my dreams tonight," I sung without noticing. 

"If I see you in my dreams tonight and you take my hand and tell me, 'I've been waiting for you' Then I'll tell you 'Me to' If I see you in my dreams tonight" I sung as I looked up into Lance's eyes. 

"I saw you in my dreams that night, I'll see you in my dreams tonight," my voice carried into Lance's eyes as it lingered on my lips. 

It was like for I saw him for the first time. In that moment, I fell in love with all over again. Everything canceled out, the music, the talk all of it, only one thought crossed my mind. 

I love Lance

The song ended but me and Lance still stay intertwined together. I couldn't stand it anymore, if I looked into his eyes any longer I would kiss him again. 

"Lance," I whispered.

"Yes," he whispered back. 

"The song is over," I said and pulled away from him. 

"Oh, right," he said scratching the back of his neck.  I smiled at him and walked to Allura.

For the rest of the night, me and Lance stayed away from each other and passed awkward glances. It was getting late and we were all tired, so Allura called end to the party. 

"Well I'm headed to bed," Hunk said.

"Same," Pidge chimed.

"Yeah," Keith huffed. 

"Get your rest Paladins," Allura said and Shiro nodded with her. Everybody left quickly, leaving me and Lance by ourselves.

"That was weird," I commented as I took off my heels. 

"I've never seen them leave so fast," Lance said his tie hung unknotted around his neck. 

"So," I said shyly. 

"Yeah," he said.

We walked in silence to until reached our rooms. Lance was already half way through his door, obviously bummed.

"Hey Lance," I said. He perked up. I took a deep breath and dropped my heels to the ground. I walked up to him and smashed lips into his. He didn't hesitate kissing back. He put his hand on my waist as I ran my hands through his hair. 

We pulled back to breath, I looked at him. 

"Thanks for today," I breathed. I walked to my room a blushing mess, I could practically feel his smile as I shut my door. It is safe to say I saw him in my dreams that night.
