Roman finding his one true love and his family reaction #theirthings

Rating: Non-mature

* * *

Roman Doukas always felt that he was somewhat distant from his family. It certainly wasn't due to lack of trying. He loved his family, he really did.

He didn't know why, but somehow he was always the quietest and the most serious and because of that, he found that he couldn't quite connect with the rest of his family members.

Perhaps that quality comes with being the first born in his family. He took on the responsibility of looking out for all of his siblings. From his twin to his youngest brother, Henry.

As of now, he and Raphael were slowing integrating themselves into taking over their family business. They had been doing so for the past five years and would be doing so in the foreseeable future.

His younger sister, Alexandria had just graduated from college, majoring in journalism and right now, she had just been offered a job in one of New York's prominent fashion magazines.

His youngest brother, Henry would be graduating from high school in a few short months before he would be heading for college and Roman was immensely proud of all of them.

But still, nothing could fill the gap in his life.

Until Lily.

Lily Arla Hart was everything he dreamed about. She was funny and smart and she brought out the more casual and friendly side of him. She taught him how to relax and to have fun and not to take things in life too seriously.

Basically, to sum it up; she was the other half of him.

She was about five feet four, reaching to slightly below his shoulders which she didn't like too much but Roman didn't mind. He loved everything about her. From her long auburn hair to her bright green eyes and the light smattering of freckles along the bridge of her nose.

She was warm, caring, compassionate about causes that he wouldn't have batted an eye for in the past. And with her determination and enthusiasm, he was hooked.

They were opposites in every sense of the word.

She was an aspiring modern artist while he was in the logistics industry. She was extremely creative and adventurous while he mostly preferred to stay in his comfort zone. She was outgoing where he was reserved.

He had been walking past a few art galleries when a small body bumped into him, splattering him with bright red paint all over his suit just before he had a meeting.

A shocked gasp had caught his attention and he was met with the biggest green eyes he had ever seen and the owner of said eyes squeaked in shock as she stared at him in return with her jaw dropped in mortification.

She had stammered an apology, eyes wide in embarrassment and horror before she quickly scrambled for a pack of tissues in her bag - not that it would help. The type of red paint used was acrylic and even though Roman wasn't an artist, he knew that acrylic paint was basically permanent on clothes.

He had accepted her apology graciously, after all, he couldn't fault her for it and nor was he a complete cad. Furthermore, the canvases she had been carrying had blocked him from her view as she struggled to load them into her car along with a half-capped jar of red paint.

She had continuously apologized and he offered to help her load her canvases into her car and she had agreed reluctantly. On top of that, she had also insisted to pay for his dry cleaning and had passed him her number so that he could bill it to her.
