Sydney Kingston's POV
"No," I shook my head. "Those are supposed to go into the West Hall," I instructed the workmen who were about to carry the large table into the North Hall.
I scanned through my list and ticked the little white box as the men carried the table into the West Hall.
The annual Season was this Friday and I had less than two days to organise everything in time for the celebration on Saturday. There was so much to be done, countless things to organise, not to mention getting the Hall decorated, but I loved it.
I loved the absolute chaos of it all.
"Luna, regarding the flowers which centrepieces go on where?"
I flipped my list. "The lilies go on the odd-numbered tables and the tulips on the even numbered tables. Also, the centrepieces that contain both lilies and tulips go on to the larger tables for guests and what not."
The young girl nodded and ran off and I turned away to inspect the lights that were supposed to seem as if they were trickling down the bannisters of the stairs.
"Mum! Tell Isabella to shut her mouth!"
I stopped and turned to see my son, my fourteen-year-old son with what seemed like a piercing in his left lobe.
"Mum! Don't listen to Cayden!" Isabella quickly entered, eyes wide and gleeful at getting her brother into trouble.
Around me, the other members of the pack stifled their laughter as Cayden and Isabella began shoving each other at the doorway, both determined to be the first to reach me.
In my entire family, only Cayden and Isabella never got along but both doted extremely on their little sister Andrea.
I blinked furiously at the sight, wondering which issue I should address first. I dropped my list onto one of the tables positioned around and crossed my arms.
"Okay, stop the shoving match, both of you are siblings and ought to be nicer to each other."
Immediately, they stopped and Isabella crossed her arms and nudged her brother with her elbow which caused Cayden to retaliate with a pinch to her arm. "Knock that off," I scolded and identical sullen looks were shot my way.
"First," I began. "Cayden, why do you have a piercing? It wasn't there this morning."
The fourteen-year-old shrugged, "Dad allowed it."
I arched a brow, "Really? I can ask him, you know."
He flushed. "No, he doesn't know about it. But my friends and I went to get it after school today."
"What happened to asking for permission before doing anything like that?" I asked sternly and Isabella snickered at his discomfort.
"You are going to discuss that with your father later," I instructed and Cayden nodded reluctantly. Now that this particular issue was somewhat resolved, I turned to Isabella who was smirking smugly at the idea of her brother getting into trouble.
"Wipe that look off your face Bella, have you been telling tales on Cayden again?"
My first daughter scowled and looked away while Cayden snorted and began making faces in her direction.
